“Its all in the eye of the beholder”

As others have said about this hotel, if you're from the middle of no where USA, or you don't travel a lot, you might have diffrent thoughts about this place.

I personally thought this place was great for its location and price.

My friends, who are more sheltered then my husband and I were aghast that the cashier in the gas station next door was behind glass. lol

I'm from small town USA, but i'm well traveled in my peer group and i would stay here again. It was clean, the staff was friendly. I would be cautious, but i didn't feel unsafe or threated by the neighbor hood. It is close to what we wanted to see in LA and it was easy to find. There is a metro stop less than a block away.

However, beware when booking, this is not the comfort inn near Hollywood BLVD, its a short driving distance from it, but its not walking distance. For some reason its difficult to tell which one is which when booking. I thought we were in the other one but no. From the reviews, i'm not the only one that has made this mistake.

The parking garage here is small so if you have a larger car, beware. We came back late at night and had trouble parking.

This was a one night stay for us on a trip to LA. The clerk was very nice. The room had the most AMAZING shower I've ever experienced!! The only problem we had was a very loose sink faucet.

Hotel was very outdated. Pipes were leaking in the garage. The staff was less than interested that we were there. Security doors were propped open and that made us a little nervous. Neighboor is a little scarey. Bathroom faucet was hanging off of it's bracket and I asked for one extra towel and they did not have one available. Breakfast was day old food and extremely crowded and confusing. Everything was stale including the cereal. If you are looking just for a place to sleep this place is tolerable. If we were staying any longer than 16 hours I would have moved to another location. Next time we will stay elsewhere.

although this hotel is ok if you are in LA for just one night and need a bed for the night , i would advise finding somewhere else in you are in town for longer. the hotel itself is in need of some updating ,the public areas are very dark. the area the hotel is in does not feel safe after dark (this was the view of the whole family). the breakfast buffet was ok and the staff on duty were very good .

Tourists who want a great base of operation would do well to choose this hotel. If you are the kind who goes out all day and comes in dog tired and just wants a clean, inexpensive and convenient place to hang your hat, this is it. Sure it doesn't have any amenities and no social places around it. But the staff is super friendly (Peter, the manager remembered my name and used it each time he saw me during my stay), the rooms are clean and the price is great. You ARE looking for inexpensive, right? Then don't moan about the lack of places to go after dark (there are none) or charming cafes around (zilch) but instead be happy that steps away from the hotel is the metro to zoom you to wherever you want to go. Situated halfway between downtown (great theatres, STAPLES Center, LA LIVE etc.) and Universal City Walk on the metro line, you should be happy to have a nice room to come to after a long day of traveling. A very good, but often times crowded, continental breakfast including hard boiled egges, waffles, juices and muffins is served daily. Look, this is not luxery but as I said the rooms are clean and room 203 is HUGE (Although it faces a very busy street, it was pretty quiet). If you want a bit fancier, pay for it and don't complain. But for a room that is clean (nice towels!!) and accomodating, I recommend this place.

Room Tip: As I said room 203 is HUGE but faces a busy street
