We just spent 4 days at the Magic Castle Hotel, and I can't say enough about how wonderful it was. We've stayed in fancy hotels all over the world, and never have we experienced more genuinely kind and helpful service... anywhere. The hotel facilities are lovely- comfortable, really clean, and great for traveling with our two small children. Here are some examples of their incredible service: - free snacks whenever you want, our housekeeper immediately arranged our room to best accommodate our baby and three year old, my son was tired one morning and was having a hard time as we helped ourselves to their amazing free breakfast- and the receptionist came out and offered him a Scooby Doo book and dinosaur toy- which made his day. I was walking up the stairs with our baby in her car seat, and someone working in the garage saw me and immediately took the carseat and carried our daughter to our room. We wanted to do a load of laundry and we had the choice of using the onsite washing machines or even better, the staff just did the laundry for us free of charge and had it back to us within 2 hours! Everyone was SO helpful. And here's the thing- it wasn't some sort of corporate "must be helpful to the customer" sort of feeling, it was really genuine- like the staff really cared about us and making us as comfortable as possible.
The location is also amazing, a block away from Hollywood Blvd... where in addition to being close to sights, you can walk to a grocery store and pharmacy a block away. Now that we have family to visit in L.A., we will be staying here again and again. I've never experienced any hotel more thoughtful or lovely. P.S. the heated pool is open 24 hours.
Stay here!!

After researching extensively for somewhere to stay for four nights I booked Magic Castle based on trip advisor reviews. The hotel lived up to our expectations! This hotel is better than 5 star hotels that we have stayed in and really felt like a home away from home. We opted for a one bedroom apartment, it was massive. Only thing was that it had an interconnecting room that operated as another guest room (could be a two bed apartment), however, the walls were so thin and the sound travelled through the door so we could hear the person next door snoring and talking. Having said that it was only a small amount of time that the travelling noise was a concern. At least our bedroom was at the back of the complex so there was no street noise at all. Everything else about our stay was fantastic.

Complimentary breakfast was fantastic, yummy yoghurt!
When you are travelling for long periods of time it is so wonderful to have the ability to wash your clothes. Cost to do one load of washing and drying was $2.50, so cheap compared to Europe where we paid over $12 at hostels!
Complimentary snacks is the best innovation and more hotels should do this!
Free wifi
Heated pool
Shower was always hot (actually not that common in other hotels!!)
Really comfortable king size bed
Weather cards the night before and turn down service
Massive TVs and free DVD loans
Welcome lemonade
Such helpful friendly staff, right from the reservation to each time we wandered past reception to be greeted kindly.
Cucumber water or sweet apple tea served in the lobby in the afternoon
Great location, one block back from a massive shopping centre and the Dolby theatr and Hollywood walk of fame. We saw Cirque du Soliel 'Iris' which was fantastic, at this theatre which is the home of the Academy Awards.

One stop on Metro from Universal Studios - buy a Tap card for $1 and load it with a ticket for $1.50. They don't do paper tickets now. Also on the red line is Union Station, it is an entertaining 20 minute ride with some interesting characters (have travelled on many metro systems around the world and LA was the most bizarre!)

I recommend to get to the hotel take Prime Time shuttle bus from the airport, $15 per person plus tips, better than $80 taxi fare, took 45 minutes or so.

We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. We were lucky enough to get a newly renovated One-Bedroom Apartment which was spacious, clean and had all of the amenities we needed. We would not hesitate to stay again.

CHECK-IN:
Check-in was prompt and the complimentary lemonade refreshing and delicious. Front Desk staff were so wonderful at check-in providing us with maps, print outs and a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and things to do.

ROOM:
Our room was great, it is exactly as described – a renovated 1 bedroom apartment, and met all of our needs. The surprise chocolate celebration cake and card left for us from the staff was also so thoughtful and lovely (it was our honeymoon).
Kitchen was massive with a full size fridge, oven with hotplates, microwave, tea and coffee facilities and a small selection of dinnerware and cutlery. There was also a full size 4 seater dining table in the kitchen.
Lounge area had a work desk, double couch and arm chair and LCD TV on the wall (also a DVD player with free movies to loan from front desk).
Bedroom was spacious with full sized wardrobe and dresser, there was also a coat closet outside of the bedroom, so there was ample space. Closet contained a good sized safe.
Bathroom was standard, only problem we had was the shower tended to be fine then all of a sudden turn scorching hot! Nothing that ruined out stay, but if you do have children taking a shower just be mindful of this as when it turned hot, it was HOT (I wouldn’t want my young daughter to be under that temp).

LOCATION:
Great location, walking distance to Hollywood Blvd and to the train station at Hollywood/Highland, it took us less than 5 minutes to walk to the train station which was perfect for us as we used public transport to go to a night Laker’s game and also to Universal Studios (only 1 train stop away).
You will definitely want a car if you want to explore the greater area, but that is not because of the Hotel’s location but because LA is so spread out. Only took us around 10 or so minutes to drive to the Grove and Farmer’s Market which we went to for dinner and then lunch and shopping the next day, and Santa Monica was less than a 30 minute drive (we got caught in traffic) from the hotel.
Plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance, as well as a pharmacy and grocery store.

BREAKFAST:
A complimentary continental breakfast is provided in the lobby, where you can either choose to eat on the patio or go back to your room. The selection was simple but delicious; pastries, muffins, toast, spreads, fruit bowl, yoghurt and juice.

STAFF:
Staff were amazing and so helpful, they made us feel so welcome and we felt they were very approachable. I walked in around dinner time one night and said to one of the lovely front desk staff that I had no idea where to eat dinner, the lovely lady threw all these options at me and even printed maps etc for me to make it so easy for us to find the restaurant – they are a great help.

Room Tip: Most rooms are renovated with some still pending renovation - so it wouldn't hurt to ask when bo...

Location, location, location. Short walk to all attractions. Room was clean, tidy and spacious. The staff very welcoming, accommodating and friendly, they're overall service was exceptional. Family loved the free snacks and the yummy continental breakfast to start off our day of sightseeing. We also got to go to The Magic Castle Club next door, which we all loved and enjoyed.
We would definitely recommend staying here, very family friendly place and relaxing, just like a home away from home. Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so enjoyable :-)
