“Family owned and old fashioned customer service!”
Reviewed 15 March 2012

This was our second stay at this small old style hotel. You park your car in front of your room here, and as other reviewers have said, the rooms and bathrooms are small compared so some other chain hotels. Just a few miles from UCLA, this family owned hotel has the nicest staff and they go out of their way to make your stay perfect. As we had an very large truck to bring my mother in law's scooter, they gave us a small stepping stool with a "reserved" sign to hold one of the larger parking spaces in front of our room while we were gone. This was so helpful in terms of getting a space we fit in as well as one that allowed an easy loading of an elderly lady! The rooms are very clean, comfortable and the breakfast is just perfect for us. You can get coffee and tazo teas in the lobby any time and you will always be greeted with a friendly smile. Don't miss the breakfast patio with the lovely fountain just off the lobby, a nice relaxing spot on a sunny morning. There is a bit of traffic on Sunset Blvd. it was not a problem for us, and quieter than other hotels we have stayed in that are closer to the freeways in this area. I felt the rates were very reasonable for Brentwood and the great location of this charming motel!

This is a great boutique hotel property. After my first stay here a couple years ago, this is the first hotel I search when going out to LA. I'd say the secret is out since they continually get high reviews but the hotel has managed to keep up their reputation which is good. The staff is friendly and helpful and willing to help you figure out things to do if you are unfamiliar with the area.

The bathrooms are a little small and the parking lot is tight but those are pretty minor issues! We can't wait to stay here again.

After reading the reviews I thought we would give it a shot. This is a well done renovation of little motel probably from the '50's. The linens, toiletries, colors were nice. Although the room was on the small side, the ceilings were high which made it seem bigger.
The front staff was great! They came up with an itinerary for our day to explore the area - spending a lot of thought on it and writing everything down for me.
This is a great place to stay to visit the Getty Museum. It is close and you don't have to access the highway to get there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back to avoid road noise. Be ware of tight parking situation.

Surely this is one of the best kept secrets in LA. I stayed here recently while on business and it was one of the nicest hotel experiences I have had in the city. The small rooms were very clean, tastefully decorated, quiet and very comfortable. Refrigerator was stocked with complimentary bottled water. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast on the outdoor patio was charming. The location and neighborhood can't be beat, with the lovely shops and restaurants of downtown Brentwood nearby. The price was an amazing $154 a night. i will stay here now whenever I return to LA!

Room Tip: get a 2nd floor room if you can.

We stayed at the Brentwood for four nights. The neighborhood is lovely. The room we stayed in was small but spotless and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was better than average. The outdoor patio was attractive. The front desk help were enthusiatic and helpful. All the employees were consistently great with directions and recommendations in the area. The inn is located on a busy corner, but it quiets down at night and doesn't interfere with sleep. I would definitely stay here again.
