Great service, good prices, excellent food inside or outside, on the patio of LACMA's entryway.

“Unusual...in a good way!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

We were staying in Beverly Hills, and wanted to try something out of the ordinary...this was it!
From the sleek red & white Saarinen-esque design theme to the equally inventive menu, it was a dining experience unlike any other we had. From the creative amuse-bouche to the deliciously presented desserts, every course was a surprise, even though we had ordered them!
When it took an extraordinarily long time to find the wine we ordered, a complimentary appetizer showed up, which was a nice touch.
We will return for certain.

“Jewel of a restaurant”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

Great location in courtyard of LACMA. We were lucky and got last table not reserved for lunch - so reservations are definitely recommended! Food was spectacular - yet very simple, fresh ingredients. Had small dining area inside but also wonderful outdoor seating. Service was excellent.

“Excellent, inventive, artfully presented food, average service.”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

Food-wise, this was an excellent experience and dining al fresco in January was a treat. I dined on the patio, which was mostly shaded, but there were heaters for those who wanted one. The furniture and table service is contemporary and fits well with the modern architecture of the surrounding museum buildings. It was quite expensive, but I decided worthwhile. For lunch, the menu is not large, but it has a nice variety of unusual selections. The bread starter was extremely good. I had their version of a hamburger, which was done eggs Benedict style, and a very interesting and delicious dessert of various forms of coconut which was a work of art. I believe they were short handed as service was not as attentive as it should have been considering the high price, however it was friendly and my server was knowledgeable about the unusual menu offerings. Watching the comings and goings of the museum visitors was entertaining. There is great people watching. I would like to go again and try some of the other menu items.

“Another reason to visit LACMA -- Dinner!”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

After a Sunday afternoon visit to a few of LACMA's current exhibits, we decided to stay for dinner. The bar area is in the open outdoors (with heaters), furnished in mid-century modern style. The restaurant, glassed in on 3 sides, is light and bright with a nice view of the museum's beautiful buildings. The menu is small; 6-8 appetizers, 5-6 entrees, all interesting, fresh combinations. Our food was delicious. Except for the drink orders at the bar being quite slow -- they delivered our drinks to our table in the restaurant -- the service was excellent and it was a pleasant evening.
