“Must Attend This Fun Yearly Event!”
Review of Ciclavia

Reviewed 6 April 2018

This event is held yearly and is hosted in many different places. I went to the location around Chinatown. The streets of LA aren't too friendly to bikers so this event is a great chance to bike in the streets since it's closed off. The path extends quite far, I remember riding from DTLA to Chinatown. There's also fun festivities along the road so that's a plus. Overall, family friendly and great way to spend a weekend. :)

CicLAvia is a seasonal community the brings together diverse local people to explore and experience "vibrant public spaces, active transportation and good health through car-free street events."

CicLAvia allows people to actively transform our neighborhoods by allowing us to forged relationships. We usually only get to see areas through the windows of our cars while cruising along the highways or down busy travel corridors.

These events give us the opportunity to step into various creative cultures, diverse lifestyles, lively music, incredible cuisine, open air spaces, festivities, folk craft and art with our many Los Angeles families, friends and others that we would have never met.

Get out, exercise, dine, laugh, think, observe and live LA life and all it has to offer! You'll be glad you did.

This event is held about 3 times a year in different areas of LA. It started with closing off the streets of LA from 9 am to 4 pm and encourages everyone to ditch the car and come out and bike, walk, skate, what ever gets you out of the car and a chance to see LA from a different view. To see Downtown and ride the bikes on the streets and look at the historical buildings, businesses, different districts and see and taste things that you probably would never see otherwise. We take the metro to get to LA then at 7 & Figueroa you just ride what ever way they have closed off the streets.
