A friend and I found ourselves at RockSugar twice within the same week - not very adventurous - but it did give two different experiences to comment on. First was lunch - we sat on the patio (beautiful), dined on small plates and enjoyed a relaxed lunch atmosphere. We tried some pot stickers, green mango salad (delicious) and lettuce wraps. Three plates were perfect for us as we were very hungry. Our server was very attentive, always smiling and refilled our iced teas before we had a chance to ask.
Our second experience was for late night dinner - the restaurant was dark and brooding and very beautiful with all the candles lit. We sat inside this time where it was definitely more crowded and noisy - but enjoyable. Luckily, we had a booth, the tables in the middle didn't look very spacious and we had plenty of bags from shopping at the Century City mall. They have a pretty good selection of wines and specialty drinks, the food was still fabulous and it was a great experience - although very different from the lunch previously.

Food was very good, but service was a little subpar for the prices you were paying. I kept thinking this was very similar to PF Changs with more variety of cuisine and more high end prices.

We have visited this restaurant numerous times and it seems like the service gets worse every time we visit. Most of the time this restaurant marks us as a no show with Open Table after we check-in and dine at this place. This was not the case this time but the service was extremely slow and we had to ask for our check after being ignored by our server for a very long time. There was no excuse for this since it was a Thursday night and the place was not busy.

The food was just okay. Our chicken dish was covered in too much sauce. We were celebrating our anniversary and made note of it on our reservation but no acknowledgment of our anniversary was made. The restaurant is beautiful but we will be taking a break from this restaurant.

Nestling inside the West Side Mall in Los Angeles, the restaurant looks awesome as soon as you start walking in. The Oriental garden with statues and plants and water has an immediate effect of calming you. Lord Buddha smiling at you and greenery surrounding you forces you to stop and breathe in the Zen like feeling. Wooden benches on either side invites you to sit and rest.
The restaurant has a big dining room and a full bar. The tables are big and the space is not cramped. Neither is their menu!!
We went for brunch and were not disappointed at all. We tried a variety of Asian delicacies. Indian flat bread, samosa, a puffed pastry filled with vegetables and chicken tikka masala. Yummy! The Vietnamese spring roll, fresh and light had shrimp, pork and crispy vegetables. It was served with peanut sauce. We tried the Chinese crispy calamari and it just felt so wonderful to bite into it.
Naturally we had some drinks. I loved their Tamarind Margarita. Its a combination of gold tequila, triple sec and lime juice. How do I know this. I loved it so much that I asked for it!
The service was quick and served with a smile. The waiters answer questions.
I enjoyed my quick brunch. Here's hoping many of you have the pleasure too.
