Location was great, both from the ocean view perspective, but also being in Bird Rock is a little quieter than being in La Jolla. Lots of fun houses around to see. Bedroom configuration worked well for us as 6 adults. Master has its own bath, other 3 bedrooms share a bathroom. The bedroom with the queen is set off a bit from the bathroom on the other side of the house.... a small trek at night to the bathroom for the person in the queen. Lots of refreshing ocean breezes coming right in windows; sound of ocean waves wonderful; fun to watch surfers out front; afternoon sun on deck, no morning sun on deck facing ocean. The house is open and spacious with high ceilings, but obviously one of the older houses in the neighborhood. Needs updating and the kitchen is minimally equipped. We were never inspired to do any "home cooking". Lots of things to do in the area. Highlights for us were visiting Torrey Pines Park, seeing the sea lions at La Jolla Cove, and eating out at the many great restaurants. The knee high wall in back of the house between the deck and the very long drop just on the other side of the wall would not have been safe for small children.
