resort is old, but that's the allure. beautiful lobby, comfy rooms and an exceptional staff. Located within walking distance of everything in town. Perfect location to access hiking, sightseeing and Yosemite. Love this place

June lake is only a couple of blocks long. We stayed at this Herman hotel. The massive fireplace is really something. It was convenient to bars restarants and across the street from the lake. The pictures on the walls were old and from earlier days at the lake. The fires did not come near this town.
Hospitality was number 1. Rooms big and clean.

We stayed two weeks using it as a base for numerous one and two day trips into Yosemite and the surrounding area. The building is classically historic lodge fashion. For the avid angler the fishing is excellent. The staff was very accommodating from the front desk to maintenance staff to housekeeping. The community of June Lake is friendly though limited in big city amenities.

Perched on a hillside in the picturesque village of June Lake, CA this historic inn has been a getaway for years. This month we had the chance to find out for ourselves why it has been so popular over time. Although the Heidelberg was booked solid the week after Labor Day, the inn’s spacious center hall with photos of early 20th century movie stars who use to go there for a retreat, was never noisy. Our accommodations were cozy, comfortable and spotless. I especially appreciated the bathroom with generous counter space and shower facility. Staff were very friendly and responsive to our requests. With spectacular views of the Sierra Nevadas in an area often referred to as “The Switzerland of California” we wished we could have stayed longer.

On our reservation, it was written that we can check-in 4pm-10pm. As we arrived at 7 pm, there was nobody at the reception desk and we had problems contacting them. Some hotel guests got involved to help us to contact them. Luckily, we managed to enter the room. Besides that, the hotel hall is very cozy.
