“Relaxing, spacious retreat - excellent!”
Reviewed 24 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Wikup is a really fabulous setting to escape and relax in. It's great that there is a pool AND hot tub, cable TV, lovely outdoor settings besides the enclosed backyard, and so on. I was frustrated to cook a big meal for me and my friends to later find the dishwasher didn't work -- I am sure they will be able to repair that, though. And the only other thing from preventing a five-star rating is a lack of WiFi. But I plan to go again. It's a great place to decompress and have a good time with friends. Really enjoyed it a lot.

Liked best: The house was very spacious. It was also really secluded but not too solitary.
Liked least: Lack of WiFi, broken dishwasher

“"Zen Go" is a go”
Reviewed 20 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed 4 nights @ Zen Go & found the spot very peaceful. All the furnishings were Asian desert sheik right down to the T.P. holder (all very well done). All the dishes & pans you would need. Great barbecue. Landscaping very nice. Each room had an A/C no problem cooling even when temp outside was 116. Favorite thing was watching the sun come, hearing the breeze blow through the large tamarisk trees. Great entertainment center, refrigerator & soaking pool.

I booked the Wikiup for a Birthday weekend gathering for a few friends. First of all the photos on the web do not do the place justice. The Wikiup was very well maintained and beautifully appointed. It had everything the 7 of us could have needed for a weekend away from LA. The location was great, serenely quiet and each of us in turn were amazed and please with our accommodations. We used the kitchen, the wonderful gas grill, the pool and the jacuzzi all of which were perfect. It was nice to be able to take a small stroll away from the property to get a small hike in and there is actually a small path around the perimeter of the property that one of my friends used as a jogging course in the morning. We all wished we could have stayed another night as it just seemed too short a time to spend in such a relaxing environment. We are all looking forward to staying at Wikiup again or at another one of the properties. Oh, it slept all 7 very comfortably.

“Peaceful Hideaway”
Reviewed 31 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We were not expecting to find such a little piece of heaven but we did. This is a Very clean, well stocked, comfortable, peaceful, cozy setting. Staying in vacation homes is how we like to travel and this place rates high on our list. Not your typical 5 star setting, instead a totally unique rating, worth experiencing. Cons: no washer/dryer, no WiFi, key pick-up was frustrating.

“Amazing desert getaway”
Reviewed 27 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

My husband and I rented the Oasis for part of our honeymoon. I was not a fan of the desert and the Oasis seemed like a comfortable place to be introduced to the desert. I not only fell in love with the Oasis but the desert as I laid in a lounge chair, the sun setting behind me, silence all around me and I watched the colors of the sand to the sky change. This is a magical place. The house is cozy, sweet, romantic but would also be great for families. The bed was very comfortable, the house decorated in a way that sets an ambiance of peacefulness. The bathroom is very large with a huge shower. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and very well stocked with all you need to cook wonderful meals. The hammock was a wonderful place to lay and enjoy the desert mornings, sunset, and wind. We played horseshoes, danced in the wind to a sunset, thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub which was very clean and well taken care of. The tv, movie channels and sound system were a plus. Listening to relaxing music outside while relaxing in the hot tub after a day exploring Joshua Tree National Park is a must do. The smaller room with bunk beds worked nicely for us to store our luggage and clothing but would be an adorable room for children. The futon couch in the tv room made for comfy relaxing with a movie. We did not need to use the air conditioning or heat as we visited during the spring. The fire pit and fireplace outside made me want to come back when the weather is cool. Easy to find, easy to rent, very clean. Ron the maintenance man was so friendly and helpful. We did not meet Rae who cleans but she does an excellent job. Highly recommend and have already recommended this location and other properties to friends and family. I can't wait to go back. Twenty-nine Palms is a cute town, we picked up a few groceries in Save-a-lot which was a cute store. We had most of our groceries with us but would recommend visiting Save-a-lot for it's quaintness but shop at Stater Bros. We visited a gift shop in town and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We did hear some helicopters and the Marines doing their job out at the base but it did not bother us. We were prepared for it and if you are in the house or in the hot tub with the jets on you do not hear it. We did not want to leave!

Liked best: Hard to answer - the hammock and hot tub and peace and quiet
Liked least: the water doesn't taste so good - high mineral content but that is not the fault of the property
