Fantastic atmosphere, FAN-TASTIC brews, great BBQ, AND family friendly!

The staff ALWAYS have smiles on their faces, are incredibly friendly, and helpful. The owners Josh & Sarah were there the entire time, talking to all the patrons, even though the place was packed, which made the experience even more personal. The upstairs balcony area is very comfortable, with additional seating, I was surprised to see another fully operational bar, and even more television screens. The shuffleboard table was a nice surprise as well.

That was just the atmosphere though, let's talk about what REALLY matters: The beers! Over the last SEVERAL trips there (be honest, the only way to give a truly accurate review is to visit a destination for more than just an hour), I've had the Wildfire Jalapeno Porter, Mojave Mud, Black Bomber (that one will knock you on your rear), Railroad Red, Desert Sunset Wheat, and, my personal favorite: The MIDNIGHT MOON. All of them were excellent. Already planning my next visit to this local pub.

The lower level picnic bench seating area was cozy, quaint, and a great way to get to know new people! The addition of Itchy Foot Kitchen (the name a reference to a famous Hawaiian surfing legend) has been welcome! Gourmet BBQ sandwiches, Pizza and other dishes complete the experience. Tried the Pulled Pork & grilled chicken... oh man!

The Barn just recently added wine (not my cup-o-tea, but the wife loves it), as well as Mimosa's and 'Bloody Beers' for Sunday Brunch!

They also have live entertainment regularly, with comedy shows every 2 weeks, and great local entertainers (check out Johnny Jukebox & the Greasewood Brothers!).

I cannot recommend this more!

They try but come up short. Food is very sparse. Come on, brews only? Left without ordering. Went somewhere else.

First there is a real shortage of this type of establishment in the High Desert Area. When we went I have to say I had very low expectations since it seems most new establishments opening up here are very disappointing. Wasted a lot of money on amazing reviews on new places. I think some of them come out that way based on minimal options and a basic lack of travel and experience of many of the reviewer's. This one will not disappoint. I have tested the brews all over the country at large and small brewery's. These guys have some of the best brews I have ever has. Their signature Mojave Mud is absolutely flawless. They have something called I think it was the Black Bomber, while isn't for the faint of heart, it has a 12% plus alcohol content, is the smoothest brew over 8% content I have ever tasted. Dangerously smooth. The owner was there and is a great guy with an absolute determination to serve only the best. When we were there we met Richard, one of his bartenders. Excellent service, great personality. Just no complaints at all. This was our first trip and we will go back. Went in the afternoon and will have to warn you they are set as a family place, so if your not in to kids, which we really aren't, I imagine if you go in the evening or weekends that would be reduced. That said do not let it stop you from trying some truly great craft beers. I recommend even if your just traveling through it is worth the trip off the interstate to visit the Desert Barn Brewery.
