Owner description: Tucked into the hills of Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, Jordan Vineyard & Winery welcomes guests by appointment for four unique tours and tastings. From perennial gourmet wine tastings with food pairing in our cellar room and walking tours through our iconic chateau, to epicurean excursions across our scenic property and festive holiday celebrations offered seasonally, there is something for everyone to enjoy. All tours include both walking and seated tastings, each featuring seasonal tastes from the Jordan chef paired with vintages of Jordan Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Jordan's Estate Tour & Tasting also includes driving. Advance reservations are required due to the intimacy of tastings. Inspired by the timeless elegance of French wine and food, Tom and Sally Jordan founded Jordan Vineyard & Winery in 1972. Their vision was to create a wine estate that produced food-friendly Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to rival the finest in France--and to capture the essence of gracious hospitality. Today their son, John, builds upon their legacy. Library Tasting Mon-Sun: 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. (closed Sundays, December-March) Winery Tour & Library Tasting Mon-Sun: 11 a.m. (closed Sundays, December-March) Estate Tour & Tasting Thurs-Mon: 9:45 a.m. (May-October only) Holiday Tour & Tasting Mon-Fri: 2 p.m. (select dates in December)

The tasting tour at Jordan was a great experience! The winery looks like a French chateau. Their presentation was so elegant. We first tasted a chardonnay with a food pairing on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. Next, we moved upstairs to the library where we sampled a 2003 Cabernet Sauvingon w/ another pairing. Then we moved into a tasting room with 2 cabs to sample, a 2003, 2005, & 2008 along with a cheese/quince jelly/olive oil (Jordan's own), & bread tasting. They wanted us to see the difference in taste when wine ages. We loved it! And bonus for us...it was during harvest, so we saw the trucks unloading the grapes, pressing them...and who was raking the grapes into the press? John Jordan himself, owner.

We have been big fans of Jordan for a number of years and were excited to get the opportunity to visit the winery. We were not disappointed! We signed up for the Library Tasting and it was terrific...informative and fun in a very carefree setting. It was hands down the highlight of our winery visits!! And....their wine is amazing!!

Tom Jordan was blessed to get André Tchelistcheff from BV to pioneer Jordan and now has Rob Davis continuing the tradition of excellence. You simply do not want to miss the magic of Jordan. The wines are super and the tasting experience refined. These folks are adding new ventures on the land with expanded culinary options available. Call to set up a most memorable experience.

Booked the tasting and tour well in advance as required. The Jordan wine evolution was well explained and the tasting was well orchestrated. We probably got our money's worth but nothing more. No wines purchased, but may consider some at our local outlet some day.

If you like good wine and go no place else, go here. This is a small intimate gathering of about 12-14 in the dining room off the library. Cheeses and herbs are paired with four outstanding wines. My highlight was the 2003 Cab, but the couple with us preferred the 2007 Cab. This was head and shoulders above every other tasting we went to. Highly recommend.
