We chose the Honor Mansion for our 3 night get away to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the smaller of the rooms-Angel Oak because we wanted the private deck overlooking the grounds. It was near 100 degrees during our stay but we enjoyed the cool mornings and evenings on the deck. The room was beautiful and comfortable with great attention to details. A bottle of wine and homemade lemon poppy seed cake welcomed us. The staff were amazing and went out of there way to make our trip great. They made us 2 private wine tasting appointments as well as arranged our dinner reservations. They are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a detailed map for some of their suggestions. The morning breakfasts were wonderful and offered an array of mimosas and a different breakfast each morning. So wonderful to start the day off right. One of the nicest things about the Mansion was how quiet and peaceful it is. One night we came home after dinner, walked the grounds and returned to our room. We figured we were the only guests that night because it was so quiet. But when we got up for breakfasts, there were several guests. It was that peaceful.
We would stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Healdsburg.

Our favorite dinners were Valette and Baci. Our favorite Vineyards were Blue Rock and Gary Farrell. Don't miss them!

Room Tip: Angel Oak for the private porch overlooking the grounds. A perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.

We enjoyed 4 nights in one of the Vineyard suites. The suite was very comfortable and quiet with nice furnishings.
The grounds are unique and we enjoyed the croquet, putting green, pool and bocce. Next time maybe tennis!
Daily breakfast was fantastic. All the food was great as were the mimosas.
The location of the property is very convenient. We were able to walk to 4 great dinners around the square.
The staff were very friendly. Steve and Tracy have done a great job with this place. We will be back.

An old historic building owned decades ago by the Honors family has been converted into a bed and breakfast by the current owners of the property. The place has been beautifully restored and very elegantly appointed. At the entry is a lounging area with a fireplace, a PC is available for guest use as well. A small dining area opens out into a beautiful patio with a koi pond. The garden is very beautifully manicured and from there one can access the bigger suites that have amenities like personal jacuzzi, private patio.
The grounds are extensive and offer a pool too, beyond are the golf putting greens, a tennis court and a small basketball court.
The room that we had booked was the Dogwood room on the 2nd floor of the home. Upon arrival, the staff gave us a warm welcome and offered to take our luggage to the room.
The office staff is available until 6 pm everyday to help out with arrangements like reservations for restaurants, wine tours etc.
Our room was small but well appointed with a queen sized bed, TV, A/c, writing desk, chairs. There was a bottle of a white wine with compliments from the owners. The linen was crisp white and very clean. We didn’t hear any road noise even though the home was along the road. Our room overlooked the beautiful koi pond.
The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided in the tub/ shower area. Small details had been looked into meticulously; sponges, makeup wipes, cotton buds, hair dryer were provided as well which was really convenient. The bathroom was spotless clean.
The only problem would be the height of the tub for some while stepping into it. Being a historic old home they have had to retrofit a lot of things to modernize it hence that could be the reason for the same.
The problem for me personally was the mattress which was a memory foam type which gave me a stiff back. So it will be worth checking into this detail about the other rooms if one is sensitive to these type of mattresses.
In the hallway of the second floor, there was hot water, coffee, tea, biscottis and sherry for the guests. In the mornings it was very convenient to grab a cup of coffee/ tea without having to wait till the breakfast.
By the dining area there was a keurig coffee maker with coffee pods, creamers, sugar that was available to the guests 24/7. This machine had a hot water dispenser too. Different types of teas were also available at that station. And not to forget a jar of biscottis.
The owners prepare cookies in house that are always there on the table for the guests. They were amazingly delicious!
Every day for breakfast there was a different hot entree, along with some scones from a local bakery, breads, fruits, yogurts, juices, cereal, tea and coffee. During our stay we tried the poached eggs with hollandaise and a side of ham and a maple glazed French toast with fresh pork sausage. The food was delicious.
Not a single detail had been overlooked. The B and B partners with 5-6 wineries in Sonoma and those wineries offer complimentary wine tasting.
It was an amazing stay in Sonoma would highly recommend it.

Thank you for writing such a nice review of our property. We are so disappointed you found your bed to be uncomfortable during your stay. We do have plush toppers that can be added to the mattress if guests find them to be too firm. We would have been happy to do that for you immediately had we been made aware of your discomfort. All our beds are memory foam made by a company that TemperPedic now owns and most guests love them. We do realize that not everyone does, so we do have those toppers just for that purpose.

When we purchased the property 25 years ago it was a home. Over the years we have developed it into the award-winning resort that it is today, pulling away from the term “Bed and Breakfast", our guests receive the service level of an intimate “Resort”. The main building which is historic, has only 5 of the 13 rooms and because of its “historic” nature we were very limited in what changes could be made. The mansion guest rooms are very comfortable, though, truly they are not as large as the other cottage and suites. We prepare all our food in house including our daily scones and we do purchase our breads from Costeaux French Bakery in town.

Daily we receive compliments on our mattresses and linens, so we were surprised to read that you were not comfortable during your stay.

We strive to provide excellent service to all our guests and we are always disappointed when we have missed any guest’s need especially their sleeping comfort, however, we are grateful that you enjoyed your stay overall.

We do hope you will return and perhaps try a larger suite. Please remind us that you would prefer a “topper” for your bed and we will make certain the addition is made prior to your arrival.

We look forward to your return and we thank you for choosing Honor Mansion!

Warm regards,
Steve, Cathi & The Honor Mansion Staff

The Honor Mansion met all of our expectations for comfort, amenities, hospitality, and help with planning our visit - in fact was more than we could have hoped for. It was a wonderful stay, from the beautiful Wisteria room with porch, to the grounds were we played with the bocce balls and then messed up our putting strokes on the putting green, to the delicious breakfasts served with a personal touch, to Tracy who helped put together a terrific itinerary of private wine tastings and restaurant reservations. We also very much enjoyed the rose gardens and other plantings on the property. We will not only be back to Sonoma County but also in particular to the Honor Mansion.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the porch on the Wisteria room and the nearness to the dining areas.

This was our second trip to Healdsburg, and there was no consideration to staying anywhere but here. From the moment you arrive, you are treated like family traveling from afar. Every little thing has been thought through, and the grounds are gorgeous. With a very small number of rooms, despite being sold out, we always had the pool, tennis court, putting green, croquet field (!) and bocce courts (!!) all to ourselves. The breakfasts - and morning mimosas - are excellent, and they bring-in top flight wineries most afternoons for tastings. I can’t recommend this place enough.... it is wine country relaxation at its best.
