You've got to try Famous Dave's if you love barbeque, they have the best and yummiest bunt ends appetizer and brisquit. You need to run not walk to this family friendly resteraunt. The menu is expansive, the food is awesome and if you go Friday and Saturday nights they have a balloon artist for the kids free. It's awesome.

The order took forever to arrive and it was pretty bad. The food was cold and there was nothing memorable about the main course or side orders.

Everything about Famous Dave's is "famous". The waitstaff introduce themselves with "famous" in front of their names. Guests are told how famous the food is! Interesting touch that has been market tested as the Alameda brand is one of the newest outposts of this chain.

I went with two friends right after we'd watched the Alameda 4th of July parade. There was a table available and we were seated immediately. When we left about ninety minutes later there was a long line of folks waiting to be seated.

Food - portions are large The bbq'd meats were excellent. The sides, and we split five of them, were just so so.

Drink - good selection of beers and full on bar that makes many Famous versions of drinks

Pricing - not inexpensive - but then anyplace that features meat is going to be pricey. With a main course each, sides, and a beer a piece, the bill totaled with tax and tip over $110.

Finally, we all agreed that we'd go back.

Lunch at Famous Daves was an incredible delight. Whoever thought to put tacos on the menu at a barbecue joint ... brilliant! Here's what the menu said of my Sweetwater Catfish Tacos:

"2 crisp flour tortillas filled with flash-fried catfish, hand-made pico de gallo, jalapeño slivers, fresh cilantro, and topped with Dave's New Orleans-Style rémoulade sauce."

They also have 3 more taco varieties ... Brisket, Pork and Fried Shrimp. Simply amazing and oh so yummy. I cannot wait to go back and try the others.
