Visited for morning tea with the girls. It really is an authentic French patisserie with Richard the French chef. Although away from the cafes on Jetty Road Brighton, it is in a good location on Brighton Road, opposite the Brighton Post Office. Parking is best around the corner in the side street.
Love the black and white tiles on the floor and the Parisian etchings on the wall. It is not a big cafe, only up to 20 guests could be accommodated. There is a large display case next to the counter which features delectable morsels of French artistry, and they taste as good as they look. We had an eclair, citron vert tart, and a lemon meringue. I also bought almond and strawberry slices to take away. All excellent. Coffe very good too in large cups. Light lunches are also available with fresh salads and quiche, lots of wonderful chevre too but we didn't have a meal here. I believe they do takeaway and you could just pick up a couple of pastries as a treat to take home. Large cakes are also available for purchase.
It is open Tuesday to Saturday 8-5. If you're visiting from somewhere else, it would be a good place to stop for morning tea or lunch en route to the McLaren Vale wine region. Or when visiting gorgeous Brighton beach for a swim just one kilometre away.
