We arrived in town thinking we had somewhere to stay just to find out I made a mistake on our booking. We ended up stumbling onto this inn and the owners were so kind. They could have ignored us and kept sleeping but they heard me attempting to open the door and they saved our lives and provided us with an amazing room with a bed comfy bed.

We spent two nights at the inn recently and absolutely loved it. We brought our two teenagers with us, and they were skeptical of staying here since they have never experienced a bed and breakfast before. It was such a quiet, relaxing place to unwind after our long busy days at Yosemite. We played cards on the balcony and hung out in the hammocks. My son and husband played horseshoes and basketball. Chris and Brittany are so sweet. We loved chatting with them about the history of the inn. Also, we love Buster, their dog. The town of Groveland is very cute. We drove into town one day to eat dinner. We highly recommend the Berkshire Inn.

We so needed to get out of busy noisy dirty San Francisco and just about everything was booked at Yosemite. The inn was perfect in so many ways. An hour from the park centre was ok. Coming back to the very comfortable bed and private room with only 4 other rooms near by meant we really got to relax after hard trekking.
The hosts were the best we experienced in several places we stayed.
Nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast range of foods was yummy.
I am always grateful for fresh fruit.
We felt that this was good value for the money.
We'll be back God willing.

great place, lovely sunset views, close to Groveland which has decent places to eat. And most importantly, it is very close to entrance of Yosemite National Park. My girlfriend loves dogs and I'm terrified of them but Duster was an unusually friend dog at the residence haha
The hosts, Chris and Brittany (I hope I spelled it right) are very warm and welcoming. They'll help you with planning and answer all your questions. You'll be welcomed with complementary wine (we had Rosè) and the breakfast also sets you up on track before you leave for activities in the Park next day. And one last thing, the smoking area is gorgeous at night with lights under a beautiful sky full of stars. Sighting a shooting star won't be surprising. Will be coming back for sure.

We spent a full day at Yosemite, did Panorama Trail down from Glacier point. By the time we end our hike and drive out of Yosemite valley, Sun has set. There were many cars and with speed limits on the windy road, it took us more than an hour to reach Berkshire Inn in the dark. The Inn stood alone by the highway, as we were not familiar with the area/landmark and there was no obvious signage in the dark, we actually missed the entrance and had to make a u-turn. It is a steep slope up to the Inn and the open car park area. We quickly checked-in (abt 8pm) and wondering if they serve dinner. We met Chris, the owner, and Buster the very friendly dog whom welcomed us at the door. Chris show us our room and suggested to us to drive to Groveland (5 mins away) to have our dinner.
Berkshire inn is a big house with 6 guest rooms. Our room is room 3 by the highway, we went in August, the weather was cooling so i think there is no air conditioning in the room but there is air vent to feed the air from outside. The place is so tranquil and you can hear cars passing by, the room is spacious with very soft bed and the room open up to balcony. Toilet is simple with standing shower facility. Breakfast is simple with instant cereal, coffee & bagel. Is a good rest place to rest our feet before we continue our drive to San Francisco. A good experience to stay in an American country inn during our visit..
