We were here for 3 nights recently. Overall the room decor and the grounds are very nice. It was a splurge for my boyfriend's birthday and a very expensive place to stay so our expectations were high.

Here's the good: 1) goodies in the room for you when you arrive. 2) handmade soap and salts that you could take to your room and use. 3) a great 3 course breakfast is included with your stay. 4) smores fixings that you can use.

The not so good: 1) we got there late on Friday night and were told that we could have breakfast at 8.30am or not at all. They had a large party and could not accommodate us. They could deliver a cold and simpler breakfast to our room. Although not happy with not being able to enjoy breakfast on vacation at a later time, we agreed to the room service. They said it would be left outside our door and would be there when we woke up. Next day, we woke up and opened the door. No breakfast unfortunately. We had to call and wait for it to be delivered. It was a hard boiled egg and a scone. Not even close to the delicious breakfast you get in the restaurant. So do not pick this option folks.

2) I had called ahead to plan a hiking day for my boyfriend's birthday. and when we asked about what I had discussed with another planner, they seemed to have clue. So we did not go on the original hike as planned since they had no notes of the conversation. Disappointing really. Again we expected the attention to detail to be really good if you are going to charge these kind of prices.

3) the restaurant was also okay. We have eaten much better for $250 for two without wine. I had the pork cheeks and it lacked flavor.

4) there was never anyone at the spa to answer questions. We stopped in a few times and never saw anyone to help us.

5) and last but not least, I do not think the director of guest services cared. She was there for some of this conversation and did not jump in to help her obviously less experienced new person. She might have had more important guests to attend to.

Conclusion is that we will not be back and will not be recommending this place to our friends unfortunately.

One of the most incredible qualities about the Guest Services Team at Farmhouse is the ability to offer our guests a variety of information based on our individual experiences. The team loves Sonoma County and everything it has to offer, so we dine at all the restaurants, visit amazing wineries, ride bikes through the countryside and hike the local trails. If you ask each one of us what are favorite places are, you would get a lot of different opinions albeit all good ones (Truth be told, we did send this guest to one our favorite hiking spots)

Another thing we offer to our guests at Farmhouse is a complimentary 3 course breakfast in our restaurant. We take reservations for breakfast because we only have 14 tables and we want to make sure everyone gets the best service possible. When this guest checked in late Friday night the only breakfast time available on Saturday morning was 8:30 am. We did however; offer her the In Room Express Breakfast which is not the same menu that we serve in the restaurant. It was noted in our reservation system that she said she might come in at 8:30 am on Saturday and if not, then she would have an Express breakfast in her room. She called at 8:45 am and asked for Express to be delivered, which we did. The good news is, she chose to dine with us the following 2 days in the restaurant - 9:30 am on Sunday and 8:30 am on Monday and we were very happy to be able to accommodate her reservation requests.

Most importantly, I never want a guest to feel "uncared" for and I am not sure how that got translated into her experience simply because I did not interject into a conversation she was having with a Concierge. My team is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all the Spa treatments we offer and I thought all her questions were answered with aplomb.

In conclusion, it is always my hope that every guest that stays with us returns to us. The door to the Farmhouse is always open for this guest in case she has a change of heart.

I contemplated booking this hotel for over a month, while researching the area i always came back to the farmhouse. Yes, the rates are higher than a typical hotel, but YES it's worth it! We stayed in a newly renovated King Deluxe room... it was fantastic. From the complimentary "spa bar" where you choose your own soaps and scrubs to the heated marble bathroom floors, private patio and fireplace. They really didn't cut any corners when it comes to luxury. We also enjoyed the free daily breakfast which should be described as "daily 3 course Michelin starred meal that you cannot finish but want to because its the best breakfast you've ever had" yeah its that good. If you are thinking to splurge on a great hotel, this is it!

If you want the mix of luxury modern with country inn, look no further. This is wine country at its best. You can look at their website to see pictures of their beautiful spacious suites.

And the breakfasts never cease to amaze us. They are not just wonderful, but wonderfully inventive. You will definitely feel you are on vacation- even if you cook a lot, you don't make breakfasts like this at home.

There is a pool and large hot tub as well as a spa on the premises. There are nice amenities like fire pits at night for which they give you skewers and fixings to make upscale s'mores! There are all sorts of little treats supplied in your room, including warm cookies at night with milk
in the fridge so you have a good food/ beverage pairing!

We always go in the winter and take advantage of the mid-week special. They offer a coupon in the fall for 50% in the winter( I think it has to be minimum 2 nights). This place is very expensive so it is still a splurge.

I must add that they have a Michelin starred restaurant, where they offer dinner. ( We have not dined there recently so I can't review it).

Just a note- this bills itself as an upscale B&B and so it is. It has only 25 rooms. It is not a big resort with tennis and other activities so you are paying for its charm. And it is absolutely worth it. Only about an hour drive north of San Francisco, it is a worthy destination get-away.

This was our 4th visit to the Farmhouse Inn in Russian River Wine country. We were able to take advantage of an off season offer and it couldn't have been better. The weather was gorgeous and the scenery spectacular. We were there during the Super Bowl so they had one of their cottage rooms set up as a snack room with drinks, salami, cheese, and the best brownies I've ever eaten. Our dinner the next night at the one star Michelin restaurant was superb as well as the three course breakfasts included in the price.

I am a little behind in writing this review. Farmhouse Inn is an amazing place to stay for a relaxing trip. We stayed here for my husband's 50th birthday. He LOVES Russian River Valley wines and that is how we came upon this resort. There isn't a lot of things around it, but is very close to Healdsburg, which is the cutest little town with fabulous restaurants. The Farmhouse staff are great and go out of their way to accommodate any request, even locating the proper cables so that we could watch our Hogs play! The homemade marshmallows , graham crackers and chocolates that are available for you to roast your own out in the firepits are wonderful, as all of the bath products that you can sample. The concierge lined us up with a wonderful driver, Randall, to tour some of the BEST wineries in the area. The restaurant on site is too die for, the 3 course breakfast, that is included, is out of this world. The chef even accommodated me one morning with eggs and toast and still made is very special as the options that morning weren't really for me.We stayed in one of the newer additions with a fire place and private patio, just beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this resort. We can't wait to return and on the next trip I will be checking out the Spa!!!
