“Great Location and Helpful Management”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

My wife couldn't wait for us to take the 37' beast of a fifth wheel we own and head for the redwoods for a get-away weekend. So on a moments notice she called the park, secured a premium "river" view spot and off we went. The park was easy to find and the interior roads paved and easy enough to maneuver around on. We had spot #26, a river view which was long and wide enough to handle our "beast' with three slides and parking for our long bed dually. We rented a fire pit ($5 per rental) and set up camp. The kids loved the clubhouse, complete with ping pong, a pool table, and other forms of amusement to keep them busy. The restrooms were clean, the showers hot and the park itself in good repair. BBQ's smoking, stars in the sky, bonfires roaring, cocktail in hand, and the sounds of quiet throughout the park lead us to believe nobody else was there except us. The park was nearly full, yet everyone respectful of their neighbors and the reason we all had come to such a peaceful spot.

The managers were polite and very helpful as we needed to borrow a battery charger which they lent to us without hesitation. Our "inverter" decided to take the weekend off as well and left us without much needed power. Many thanks for coming to our rescue! We appreciate it.

Overall a great experience! We would return in a heart beat for sure.

Room Tip: Space #26, a premium river view spot is great for large rigs although a bit tricky to get into becau...

My family stayed at the Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort for 5 nights last week, bringing our 27' travel trailer. Very pleased - it was the quietest campground I've ever been in. We had an excellent location in the corner, with redwoods all around and a river right behind us. The campground was clean, well-maintained and featured many redwood and other mature trees. The traffic through the campground was very light, so our girls were able to ride their bikes around easily. They brought a portable fire-ring to our site, and would deliver fresh firewood as well for a very reasonable fee. Showers were hot and had very good water pressure. Restrooms were clean. The clubhouse had a ping pong table and other games. You can easily cross the river into the state park, or walk to the Roaring Camp Railroad.

In Felton, there is a Bigfoot Museum as well as a covered bridge park. Scotts Valley is a slightly larger town, about 7 minutes drive. Santa Cruz is about 10 minutes away, very easy to get to from this campground.

Note: Some of the sites were very close together and if we had been in those sites, I would have been disappointed. I definitely recommend one of the premium sites. The wifi was free and worked best closer to the group campfire area. They do not have a pool.
