I stayed at the St. Regis in Dana Point for one night in mid December for an annual holiday gala that was held at this beautiful resort. The St. Regis is by far one of the most elegant hotels that I have ever stayed at! The property is simply stunning, with gorgeous grounds, pool area and view. Our pool and ocean view room was divine in all aspects, and I regret not having more time to relax there. I especially enjoyed the comfortable bed with luxurious bed linens! The hotel was all decked out in holiday decor which made it even more warm and inviting.
In my experience, the only flaw with this hotel was with some of the service that we received. I was disappointed with our wait staff at breakfast that took ages to take our order and even to get coffee. Not the 5 star service that I was expecting. Upon check out, we unfortunately had to wait 45 minutes for our car to be brought up from the valet. Yes, I understood that it was 11:30 am, and many people were checking out, but 45 minutes is not an acceptable amount of time to wait. I complained to the concierge after 30 minutes, and he tried his best to remedy the problem, and even comped us the parking fee which I greatly appreciated.
Hopefully the hotel is aware of these service issues, and I look forward to a future stay with hopefully 5 star service to match the resort

Hi 1GraciousTraveler-
Thank you for your review. We are glad you were able to relax and enjoy all of the luxury The St. Regis Monarch Beach has to offer. We hope next time you can stay longer!

In response to the wait at the valet, we are very sorry. During the holidays the valet gets very busy and they do the best they can to move cars in and out as fast as possible. I am glad to hear your valet was comped.

Thank you and have a wonderful day! Hope you come back and visit us soon.

So sad! Getting to bed at almost midnight only to discover that there was sand under my pillow and in the sheets! I reported and they gave my concern to housekeeping. Not enough when you are charged over $400./night!! Very disappointed! But a nice resort if you don't mind the dirty sheets!

Halofan1 -
Thank you for your response. We are upset to see that there was sand in your bed. This is unacceptable and I hope housekeeping was able to make this right for you.

We hope you can come back to the hotel soon and experience our five-star luxury.

Thank you.

Just spent the long weekend down at st.regis. The last weekend wasn't so great but this trip was a delight - thank goodness. All in all the rooms and location was great as we had three all next to each with amazing views. Service was very good on this trip especially the spa and bech club.

This resorts beach club is the best as its private, excellent restaurant and amazing ocean views. The Sunday brunch is one of the best in southern Cali. I was a little hesitant to go back but after some strong arming it proved to be great.

This hotel is incredible and incredibly expensive.

The hotel is beautiful, as is the landscaping and grounds. The pool is great with excellent service. There is a great shuttle that takes you back and forth to the beach which is also great with exceptional service.

The rooms are impeccable. Very large and very nice linens, huge bathroom, and great snacks.

The restaurant food is top notch; however, you definitely pay for what you get. Drinks are extremely overpriced.

Overall the hotel is amazing but you better be ready to pay the price.
