We visited here on a rainy October day. The staff were very friendly. The food was great. We had brie and bacon sandwiches freshly made with a nice bowl of chips. The bread was so thick and fresh it was great and so much filling. It was a great find.

Great view of the bridge and ford from the edge of their lawn. Eat outside if the weather is good. A very pleasant ploughmans lunch, good cheese, ham, pickles, celery, salad and apple (£12), washed down with a pint of somerset scrumpy. Excellent cream scones and tea for 2 (£5.50). Perfect after a long mornings walk up the valley.

Expensive dreadful coffee and stale fruit cake served by a miserable member of staff. What is tragic....seeing happy walkers/holiday makers wanting to spend money and feel valued as a customer to no avail. If only I could work there and in such a beautiful area I would feel blessed. Never again will I visit.

We enjoyed our stop at the cafe pub, the food was flavourful and home cooked. The service was a bit slow but they only had two people working. We are glad we stopped for lunch as the view by the river and stone bridge was beautiful. It's worth a stop while you are driving or walking around the Lorna Doone valley.
