“a dream come true”

I just returned from an amazing trip to Lombok in Indonesia. I would not recommend this place for someone single or alone but luckily I was there with close friends and their child. Despite being so remote it's right next door to the lovely Tugu Resort Hotel. But, the food at the Beach Villa is far better than Tugu. The Beach Villa was beautiful in a very tropical and idyllic setting. But, for me, it was the Indonesian staff which made this holiday simply warm and beautiful. The chef, Iri and his assistant, War create the most beautiful food daily and are extremely accommodating. With all kinds of dishes and willingness to learn new ways of cooking too. The Villa is in the middle of nowhere so you need to rely on the host to help you book transfers, massage, boat trips for snorkelling or adventures but she is very willing to help and avails herself daily. I would suggest stopping at a grocery store before you check into your villa as the nearest store is at least 45 minutes away but they can provide everything you want for a price. Nothing is expensive there but you are very remote so I was glad to be there with close friends and also got to know the staff with little chats daily. They are just so friendly and accommodating and willing to share conversations despite their limited English. The pool is great as is the lovely Indonesian furniture. The security is amazing and you always feel safe. You are right on the beach with incredibly warm water which is crystal clear.

“Stylish,Practical Perfection”

The villa is as close to perfection as you will find---location,layout,furnishings,staff--truly this is 'The Real Deal".From the moment you enter the property you are just in awe at everything about this villa. The living areas are well thought out and the bedrooms are up there with the best I have encountered in villas.Having put together two tropical gardens I could only applaud the simple but effective garden design.Add to this a leisurely stroll through the garden takes you to a simply stunning beach and glorious water and mountain views.Very hard place to leave and we really do mean it when we say that we would love to make a return visit.

“Perfect Getaway!”
Reviewed 13 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This was my first time to Indonesia and I needed a place to just relax, be quiet, and just breathe. The Beach Villa was the perfect place! The villa is very spacious with beautiful tall ceilings. There is large pool for swimming or the warm sea that is just steps away, with soft white sandy beach. Jacqueline, our host, was amazing, taking care of everything we needed. We had fun snorkeling and just walking the beach looking for seashells. The staff at the villa were very sweet and the food was delicious!! I recommend very highly, especially if you need a real getaway vacation!

“Perfect Villa”
Reviewed 21 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Perfect with a capital P. Just one word is too short describe our experiences in The Beach Villa Sire on Lombok.
We -family of two parents and two 'children' of 16 and 19- enjoyed our best holiday ever. Had our stay in the wet season from 6FEB until 15FEB 2016, but it felt like the sun was shining everyday. There was a mix of clouds, some rain and sunshiny days.
Goosebumps on our arms when we went through the gate, the villa, the lovely porch, the open garden, passing the great swimming pool, and entering our own private beach. Wow!
The staff was perfect and contributed to a true VIP experience. War is a perfect cook, breakfast was great, and you can make a reservation for lunch or dinner (on the beach!) upon request.
The villa is decorated in stunning way, decorated in a great style, and paying attention to every tiny detail. You really feel at home within 5 minutes.
Lombok is a great island, beautiful nature, and very close to the Gili islands. You really have to arrange a typical Indonesian boat with a crew and visit the islands, and swim with the sea turtles, and do some snorkling in the blue corral areas. Pure joy.
Some other great places we visited: on a stone throw distance you have the Tugu Hotel, and ask the staff for a driver/car to go to Jeeva Klui or to indulge yourself in the best of the best resort and restaurant experience we had at The Lombok Lodge. So many things to see and enjoy.
We will certainly come back !

“We had a wonderful time in this beautiful and relaxing villa”
Reviewed 9 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We had a wonderful and very relaxed time in the Beach Villa. It was the second time that we visited Lombok, after a stay in the Oberoi Hotel back in 2010. Being a family of four kids now (2, 3, 5 and 8 years old), we prefer villas to hotels for truly relaxed holidays. We spend 10 nights in the Beach Villa at the end of June / beginning of August 2015. As we were visiting in the dry season, the weather was absolutely perfect (that is, if you like a lot of sunshine).

The Beach Villa is located in the same area as the Oberoi and Tugu Hotel on a stunning white sandy beach. It is set in a former palm grove neighboring the Tugu Hotel on one side and Villa Sapi on the other side. For your diving and snorkeling needs, the Gili Islands are located on the left side of the villa, just 10 boating minutes away. The beach in front of the villa is clean, quiet and offers magnificent views. You will have the beach for yourself most of day, as there is only a limited number of villas/hotels in the neighborhood. If you want to meet people you can go to the Tugu Hotel beach next door or take a boat trip to the Gili Islands, which are more crowded.

The villa architecture is a mix of traditional Indonesian and modern beach style. There is a big living room with satellite TV, two large bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms (partly open air) plus a modern kitchen. The veranda in front of the villa is the dining area. The built quality is high and meets 5-star hotel standards. Wi-Fi is included.

Being a family with four kids, the owner (Jacqueline) arranged for an extra cot and extra bed in the two bedrooms to accommodate us. The bedrooms are very spacious and the extra beds have no negative impact on your comfort.

The back yard is beautifully landscaped, well maintained and provides a lot of space. The pool is located at the end of the yard, close to the beach, and is big enough to keep you entertained. The pool does not provide a lot of shallow space for small kids (babies, toddlers) and is quite deep (approximately 1.50m). Our kids are fairly good swimmers and it took them a day to get used to the fact that they cannot standup in the pool. The 2 year old had to wear floats when we were not in the pool. Some pool toys and adult snorkeling gear came with the villa, but we recommend bringing your own pool floats and toys to keep your kids save and busy. We enjoyed the pool all day long. In the morning it was cool and fresh, after sunset it provided pleasurable warmth.

An elegant gate separates the backyard from the beach. Two sunbeds are available on the private part of the beach, were beautiful trees provide shadow in the hot sun. It is hard to believe that such a beautiful beach is so quiet – we saw only one beach vendor during our ten days stay. The beach provided an endless supply of shells and corals for our kids to sort out. The full moon low tides revealed the coral reefs and sea grass fields in the late afternoon, attracting local fisherman going for the catch of the day. We shot some of our best sunset pictures in this nice ambiance.

The staff at the villa was super friendly. They were dedicated to make our stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. We found them less formal than the staff that we experienced in villas in Bali, and we liked that. Their English was not perfect, but we usually succeeded in getting things arranged. Jacqueline, the owner, arranged boats trips to the Gili Islands for us and poolside massages. The staff enjoyed the kids as well: they flew kites with them, climbed into the palm trees to get them fresh young coconuts etc.

We enjoyed our stay very much, including the freshly baked croissants that were delivered from the neighbouring cooking school (in villa Sapi). it was a memorable goodbye to South East Asia for us.
