This restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean. I have now covered all of the positives. You wait forever for a table. They try to get you in and out in a hurry. The food is really terrible. It is overpriced. Plus you must pay cash. Do yourself a favor, see the sunset on Moonstone Beach - spectacular. And eat anywhere else but here.

This restaurant has a perfect setting and really tasty food! Fresh seafood on the menu including oysters, clams, shrimp and scallops. Daily specials include fresh catch of the day including halibut, swordfish and thresher shark. A line usually forms early.

This restaurant is all about getting you in and out as fast as possible. Two of us sat down, and when the bread basket was delivered with 2 little sour dough rolls, we both immediately started laughing. Then my dinner was served with this huge piece of fish. Sounds good? Problem was it was still raw in the middle. I sent it back to be cooked. When it was returned, it was 1/4 the original size. My friend had a choice of shrimp scampi over pasta or with potato and vegetable. Really? Not the way to serve this particular dish. Others we ran into also commented their dish was close to being uncooked. Maybe it's the best in town, but still needs attention to details.

Sat at the oyster bar. Amazing West Coast oysters and sauvignon blanc, followed by clam chowder and garlic shrimp pasta. All delicious, served by friendly and attentive bar staff.

On a recent visit down the coast we stayed at the charming city of Cambria. After many recommendations from others we were excited to dine at Sea Chest. After waiting for more than an hour the only positives I can take away were the location and view. The food was very boring and without taste. The service was slow and very unenthusiastic. We were so disappointed we left without finishing our food and wondered why there was such hype about this restaurant.
