My daughter treated me to a relaxing and beautiful getaway for us both in Cambria; I chose the town, she chose the lodging. The room was clean and tasteful with fireplace and nice amenities. The staff were helpful and the breakfast buffet was full of tasty choices. We loved the proximity to the beach and boardwalk and the fact that restaurants were within walking distance. The fridge in the room was appreciated, too.
The FogCatcher served as a good base for exploring wineries, beach, and visiting Hearst Castle.
The only down side was that children seemed to dominate the pool and hot tub, playing "Marco Polo" (clearly audible from inside our room) until late. Other than that it was quiet and tranquil. Very nice.

Room Tip: Perhaps the south side rooms would not have the noise issue of the pool.

Enjoyed an anniversary weekend in Cambria at the wonderful FogCatcher Inn. Staff (Jane) was very friendly, polite and let us check in to our room early. She and the other front desk staff went out of their way to try to ensure anything we might need or want to do during our stay was taken care of. We were keeping expenses down on this trip, so we didn't plan any elaborate tours or dinners out this time. But that really allowed us to just relax and enjoy the view from our room, the pool at the Inn, and the beach, ocean and tidepools directly in front of us. Our downstairs oceanfront-view room with high-top table and chairs right in front of our windows gave us the perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine and dinner (picked up at the Cambria Farmer's Market which we highly recommend-Friday afternoons) right in our room with unspoiled ocean views, and fresh air. We absolutely love the FogCatcher Inn and have recommended many friends and family over the last 20+yrs. We've tried a 2 other locations on Moonstone Beach in the last few years; but neither stacked up to the FogCatcher Inn in the end. The location, quaint, quiet and just the right extra little touches in the room amenities, the service, hot-breakfast, fresh baked afternoon cookies, amazing ocean views from the pool and spa, walking distance to Moonstone Bar and Grill...you might pay a little more than some of the others on Moonstone Beach, but it doesn't get much better than the FogCather Inn.

I headed down to Cambria on a road trip to check out Hwy 1 and Hearst Castle. The service was fantastic. Very nice people and good location across the beach. Clean room and bathroom and great breakfast with lots of hot items included. All the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate you want at the front desk. Nice touches. Really enjoyed having a fireplace, too!

Friendly ladies on reception. Room was big and airy. The pool was a nice surprise. Great location near the sea. Close to a nice walk along the coast and good sunset views.
Cambria is a great little town with character.
Enjoyed the cookies on arrival.

Lovely big rooms right on the beach, cookies at check in and a fireplace in the room! The room ((201) was large, bright and clean and has a kingsize bed. I think I could happily sent my mum here for a stay without any worries.
The hotel staff are very welcoming and it has been a lovely short break here in Cambria

Room Tip: Try and get a room to the side of or oposite the office to avoid what little road noise there may be.
