Came here for a stroll after lunch, discovered the weir was undergoing renovations with a temporary bridge in place maintaining access to Canning River Regional Park. Made for an interesting outing viewing the restoration work underway and seeing the water gushing through river flow diversion. Fascinating.

I love this place and often take the dog there for a walk. Normally the weir is lovely but the bridge is currently being renovated so access is temporarily being impeded. Once the work is finished it will be well worth visiting again.

Going to the Kent Street Weir is like stepping back in time to much simpler forms of entertainment. Its calm( although the council are currently rebuilding the weir, pretty greenery around with nature walks and gents waters People were bringing their canoes down, there are swans paddling idle by.. reminds me of being a kid and going down to the undeveloped rivers to catch frogs!!

So much to do here! The bmx track was perfect for our beginners. Then a range of different cycle paths, schooling mullet just at weir, playground, castledare train track and launch spots for canoes. The cafe was very busy so unless you're willing to wait over 30 mins byo. Are BBQ facilities too. Kids loved it.
