Strangers recommended this and I had never been or heard of it. Glad I have now.
Excellent homemade papparadelle ragú and salad plus tiramisu that was a delight. Whole family participates, two generations contribute nightly. Very homey and welcoming. We enjoyed the hospitality and food and are certain to return.

Tiny little place on Shattuck - go early if you want the calamari starter - they only make so many each evening. Group of 4 - we all enjoyed our dinners, drinks and lovely ambience. Will go back - early - for the calamari!

A family style gem hidden in a commercial development. Ignore the building it sits in. Lococo's is red sauce Italian-american at it's best.

Our group of six had pasta, clams, ravioli, meat balls, house white wine and house red wine - all were excellent. The wait staff was attentive and kid friendly. If you like Italian you will love this place.

My Italian cousin from Antioch wanted to come to Berkeley to find an Italian restaurant and visit. Found this one on line and we had a wonderful time. It is small, cozy, yet convivial for conversation. The owner-server was wonderful. We ordered calimari for a starter. Since it took awhile so he gave us a plate of pollpetone for starters. The calimari was some of the best we ever had. Hot, not greasy and in a nice lemon spray. Next came wine. he was pretty busy and forgot our order of a liter of house wine, so he made good and gave us a nicer bottle instead. Again very accommodating.

Wife had aubergine and liked it. Cousin had pappardelle with wonderful funghi. I had pappardelle with Bolognese sauce. The pasta was fresh and great. But too much sauce. In Italy, the sauce would be more spare, which I prefer. But this is America where 'more is better'. Cousin's spouse had the calimari with wonderful looking penne pasta with a nice tomato sauce.

We will come again.
