We stayed at Edingtonhill House for a hen party last weekend, as bridesmaid I was part of planning this weekend, we were absolutely blown away by how great the house was and even better than our expectations. The house was a great size for 21-22 people, with amazing gardens and an incredible pool area. We were lucky getting some gorgeous weather, and sitting out in the garden watching the views and sunset really made it a special weekend for the bride to be and all the hens. Huge kitchen and lots of utensils, glasses etc., nice bedrooms and mix of family, twin and double rooms made it easy to get everyone in a suitable room. I would 100% recommend this house to any big groups looking for somewhere really special, we had the most amazing weekend! Only small piece of advice for people staying there in the future is to put the name of the house into google maps rather than the post code, as that helps in locating the house :) Thanks to the owners for being great and easy to contact while we were there to answer any questions we had.
Great Easter break, amazing cottage and surroundings. This was a great family holiday with beautiful view of the lake and hot tub. Owners were very welcoming and let us a great hamper and also catered for Gluten Free. Would recommend this cottage and would go again.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Edington hill House, its a lovely big house great for get together's, yes some of the walls could do with a lick of paint but this didn't interfere with our weekend.
After our 1st visit 2 years ago I contacted Alison re a matter, and she was to get back to me, this didn't happen. Nothing that would put us of going back. This year however there were a couple of points I contacted Alison about twice since we returned and have had no response..............not good, both points I feel sure she would wish to address, very poor customer service.
Beautiful house in stunning rural location. We had 17 of us in the house and although the website states it sleeps 22 I think this is a bit of a stretch there are only beds for 14 and the rest of the beds are sofa beds. 1 of which was broken and one was really uncomfortable ( we ended up putting the mattress on the floor) pool is great as were the sauna and hot tub however the house could do with a wee spruce up in places.
This house is located not to far off the A1. It is best to take the turn off from the A1 at the Eyemouth junction. The post code we had did not get us to the correct destination but a helpful farmer advised us where to go.
The owners Dad is helpful in telling you how to use the amenities. Overall the house is well furnished and should meet the majorities of peoples needs. There was no need to light the log fire as the houses central heating was adequate.
The swimming pool, hot tub and sauna facities were good and used by all of our party.
The ping pong table was a little disappointing as all had expected a full sized table but it provided lots of challenges for all.
It looks like the house is used for different types of large party gatherings which must be a challenge for the owner and cleaners.
