This hotel is claimed to be in a rural location but sits immediately behind a petrol station on the main road past Cintruenigo, next to a lorry park and on the edge of housing developments. It looks off-putting from the outside but is actually much better inside than expected. Wi-Fi is claimed to work in all areas but did not in our room. It did however work in reception, but was rather inconvenient, especially when the staff turned out the lights while I was in the middle of booking our next night! Our arrival receptionist was friendly and helpful.
The bedroom had a balcony but no seating. Between us and the noise outside there was a glass double-glazed door, an electrically operated metal shutter, and a double-glazed sliding patio door on the inside. This combination was extremely effective at eliminating external noise, but was defeated by a penetrating, generator-like noise, produced from within the hotel, that rose and fell in pitch during (at least) the latter stages of the night. That said, a cost of €78.10 for dinner, bed and breakfast for 2, was reasonable.More
