We stayed at the Casa Donas from May 26-June 1, 2017. The property is gorgeous & instantly felt like "coming home." There were storms the first night of our stay & the breaker/power went out but problem was easily solved. Waking up to the sounds of rain, roosters crowing & church bells ringing was amazing.
Our son has been living in the Nigran area for Rotary Exchange so this was the reason for our trip. He joined us and we had more than enough room for our 4 kids & 2 adults.
We hosted Sam's host parents, grandparents and friends for an evening BBQ one night. Seating was plentiful. Wine & food of the region was wonderful. A stop at the local fish market in Nigran is a must. It's open in the mornings. We ate several times at a place in town near the pizza & ice cream shop, by the beach. Amazing food/local feel, not touristy. Baiona had some great places but it's more touristy. Vigo had great malls, supermarkets, and a ferry to the Cais Islands, which were amazing. We made day trips to. Santiago & Porto. Easy drives. A car is a must for this home.
The kids loved the pool and I loved the gardens, flowers, & outside couches, perfect for afternoon & evening siestas.
Jaime & his dad were so helpful and very kind. What an amazing place. My husband's father passed away (back in our home state) during our stay, so the home was an amazing relaxation place to gather with locals & celebrate life/be grateful.
This home made our trip unforgettable. We hope to return someday & would not hesitate to rent this house again! Thank you so much!❤️
