A delightfully renovated former olive mill tastefully decorated four room hotel with views to the mountains over avenues of olive trees.
Run by a friendly and attentive couple the rooms are spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed and renovated
We arrived at 13:55 and enquired if lunch was still on and although it was late we were cooked a freshly made onion soup which set us up till Dinner time, which was from a fixed price menu with three choices all reasonably priced, we had Sea bass which was cooked to perfection.
I can easily recommend this very reasonably priced gem of a hotel, to anyone who craves good old fashioned service and standards.
Ps the House red was very good too.

Room Tip: All four rooms offer good views across the surrounding countryside

We spent 2 nights at this hotel on a cycle holiday along the River Ebro. I'm afraid it was a rather disappointing experience. Things didn't start well when we arrived (hot and tired after a long day) to find the front door shut and locked and no bell or knocker... We had to bang on the door to get any attention. Our room was comfortable with a decent bathroom. However the bath itself is quite small, why not provide baths of a decent size rather than the gimmick of hydro massage water jets?
On the day we arrived there was a very noisy motor cross event on a track close to the hotel. It was very noisy even with the windows closed.
We were told that the owner's daughter, Ares is the key figure here - don't believe it. In my opinion she is next to useless and spends more time rearranging her hair than focusing on the needs of her customers. Her father and mother are much more helpful and at least have some idea about running a hotel.
We found the meals here to be very disappointing, loads of tomato bread if that's what you like. Generally the food was of disappointing quality, a real shame.
If you need a hotel in this area I suggest you look elsewhere.

Hotel Panxampla is a family run four roomed rural B&B which has been added to a long established restaurant. Rooms are immaculately turned out with great views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Nobody here speaks any English but they are all adept at sign language accompanied by encouraging smiles - and quite a lot of laughter. Breakfast is the usual Catalan selection - tomato bread with cooked meats, cheese, pastries, etc. The restaurant serves robust local dishes and is popular with the locals - try the Escalibada if you like your veggies. Grills are cooked over charcoal in an open kitchen. Rooms are air conditioned. The restaurant is too... but only if it's busy.
An old fashioned well run establishment in a quiet neighbourhood - easy access to Tortosa and the Ebro Valley.
