I have to start this review by saying that I am bias as Ca'n Pintxo is one of my favourite places to eat in Soller. We come here every year, at least once, and I have never been disappointed with the experience.
It's a simple idea done well, tapas with panache. Many of the tapas are displayed on shelves and, as you can see from the photos, these look both interesting and delicious, and always something new to try. These each have sticks in them ( known as pinchos - hence the name) with a colour on the tip which denotes the price. These range from €1 to €4.50 so be careful what you let children choose, as it can soon mount up!!! You put the sticks in a pot and they are added up at the end.
You can also order many more hot tapas dishes from the menu and they similarly taste great and have a visual wow factor.
In the evening there are less cold tapas as most people order from the menu. A favourite with most diners is the patatas bravos (house special). This you can now have with a garlic sauce, but we stayed with the traditional piquant mayo.
At busy times you do need to book. It is very popular with locals who do book in the evening making it difficult to just walk in at busy times. There are three areas; outside, which is in a side street (in the sun during the day but shaded later in the afternoon. The ground floor, which does have limited space, but from where you can see everything happening, which I like! Finally upstairs, which I feel has a little less atmosphere but best if you are in a larger group.
The house red and rose are good 'drinkable' wines by the glass or the bottle (we haven't tried the white).
I would definitely recommend Ca'n Pintxo, but in busier periods such as the weekend you do need to book to be assured of getting a table.
