This is a lovely villa - just as lovely as it looks in the photos! It is very clean and well maintained, has a well-equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, is very quiet but not too far from civilisation, with a beautiful garden (gorgeous views), a fabulous pool (not quite big enough to do lengths in, but extremely well maintained and the perfect temperature) and lots of outdoor chairs for lounging about on. The main bit of the house has a double bedroom (with en suite), another bathroom, and the kitchen/living room area. There is then a separate annex (by the poolside) containing the second bedroom (lovely views from French windows on two sides!) and another bathroom. I really like the separateness of the annex, and the multi-levels of the set-up - this would be perfect for a two-couple destination. There is massive amounts of storage space.
The caretakers are really friendly and discreet, the pool is cleaned every day and towels replaced mid-week. The wifi is generally very good - it worked perfectly for radio streaming, but might struggle with heavier-bandwidth streaming (you could trying bringing an Ethernet cable to plug in directly, which I suppose might help?). The aircon is excellent. Not mentioned in the official description, there is a barbecue (seems to be new this year - very sparkly) and also a DVD player (the TV doesn't have any channels in English, but plenty in German). There was a bottle of wine and some water in the fridge waiting for us, which was much appreciated - but you will need to stock up on the basics on the way here (there was no salt, pepper, washing-up liquid etc., and not enough loo roll for more than two for a week).
Pollensa itself is very pretty, with great restaurants (honours even between Numerous Oche, Clivia and Il Giardino) - it's only a 25-minute stroll to the main square in Pollensa if (like me!) you didn't fancy driving back. If you want a good walk, hiking route GR221 to Lluc is well signposted and took just under six hours from the villa to the monastery (and there's a bus back, if you time it right...) - and I am sure there are many more good walks!
*Word of warning!* - when parking the car outside (and there is a dedicated spot, which is useful), there is a tree by the road with concrete at the base. It is *very* easy to fail to appreciate just how far out the concrete reaches, as it is not visible from the driver's seat - I managed to scratch the car quite badly (and we had a small car!)... Once I realised how much of an issue it was, it wasn't a problem - but please take note!! Also, be prepared for quite a steep approach up the road to the villa - you are going the right way, have the courage of your convictions!
Have a lovely stay - we did!
