After staying in the Port on previous visits to Majorca, we decided to try a villa inland this year as it seemed to be slightly better value and we had heard that Pollença was a lovely base. The villa and gardens were lovely, check in time was 2pm which was great (my sister had to wait until 5pm to get in her accommodation a short distance away!). Margarita was the perfect host. I had been concerned that daily visits to the villa to tend the pool might feel intrusive but she always came to do the pool and empty bins (kept outside the back door) before we were up (our children are 14 and 12 so no longer early risers!) and we hardly saw her. We stayed for a fortnight and they came to do a change of bed linen and towels mid way, and because my mother in law likes her sleep, she was still in bed at 9.50am and Margarita very kindly said she would come back an hour later to save disturbing her, which she did. The electricity and water had gone off one morning after a big thunderstorm overnight and she came over within half an hour of my husband phoning her. So thanks to Margarita for providing all we needed, and being very aware of us needing as stress-free and relaxing a holiday as possible.
the welcome pack of food was good (we have had a different villa a few years ago which provided no basics at all, literally just one tea towel, so no washing up liquid or tin foil etc.) There was all the food basics, dishwasher tablets, tin foil, liquid soaps in bathrooms, washing up liquid and sponges so if you arrived late at night you would have all you need until morning.
It takes 15 mins to walk to the very edge of Pollensa but half an hour to the central square, which was fine with us. Perfectly situated close to the Eroski and Lidl and the Pollença “Shopping Center”.
This is really a 4 and a half star rating although the only option was 4 or 5 stars. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 star was that a couple of things were not absolutely perfect. So, the shower/jacuzzi bath in the downstairs bathroom while probably state of the art many years ago was looking a bit worn and difficult to keep clean (although worked fine). There were also signs of damp on some of the downstairs walls and while I realise that this happens in some old country houses, my sister did not experience the same in her similar villa down the road. It did not spoil our enjoyment of the house though, there was just a bit of flaking on the paint on the walls.
Upstairs terrace was lovely with great views, beds were comfy (downstairs at least - the inlaws had the upstairs bedroom). Gardens attractive with everything you need outside to enjoy the outdoor living, table tennis well used, etc etc. Mosquitoes were an issue, you WILL get bitten even if you haven’t before, unless you spray yourself etc.
We would return to this villa, which is the first time I have said that about any accommodation in Majorca. Thanks, Margarita.
This countryside villa has everything that you need for a relaxing holiday.
We have just returned from a one week's stay at this lovely villa, with great outside space and pool.
All the bedrooms were comfortable, with plenty of warbdrobe space. The bathrooms were perfectly fine, given that to some they may appear a little datted.
Everywhere was clean inside and out and Maragarita came every day to clean the pool and tender the garden.and take the rubibish away.
There was a small problem with the air conditioning and Margarita came immediatly to sort the problem out.
The whole family enjoyed the holiday and we found Margarita to be approachable and friendly.
Unfortunatly next year it's just myslf and my husband returning to Pollenca and so we will have to look for somewhere smaller and cheaper otherwise we would definetly return..
A very central location, close to amenities although nicely tucked away in the village. The lane down to the villa is narrow but gives the feeling of being in a private location with a country feel. The villa itself is well equipped, clean and indeed offers a cool spot indoors to hide from the midday sun. The pool, hot tub and surroundings are very well attended to on a daily basis by Margerita. Great too, is that each morning the bins are emptied and any needs arising can be discussed with Margerita, who is always pleasant and approachable. This year has been, as in all of Europe, a good year for the mosquitoes so come prepared! We hope to revisit sometime in the future and would like to thank Margerita for a lovely stay and the generous starter pack there on our arrival.
Very pleasant villa but bathrooms could do with a facelift, other than that the villa was clean and tidy.
Veranda cushions would benefit from cleaning as they were stained.
Margarita very accommodating, helpful and cleared the rubbish each morning. The towels were changed mid week which was great.
We had a great holiday.
