“Peace and Tranquility”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Just returned from a wonderful week at Can Sol. The pictures of the villa are very accurate and the villa contains some beautiful traditional artworks.
It's quite a way down a very quiet road but easy to walk, especially walking home after a meal, so you can walk your dinner down. The pool is lovely and great to sit around.. Tv is almost non existent but that's not what your coming for.
I do feel the villa needs a file of instructions on how things work and leaflets of things to do and see, also nearest doctor, vet, hospital, police station.
I would use the villa again as it makes a very relaxing holiday.

“Fabulous Location and outdoor space”
Reviewed 17 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I travelled here with my husband, 2 friends and their three year old son. We stayed for 10 nights in September 2015.

We arrived around 21:00 on a Saturday night. The villa was left unlocked and there were lights left on. We made ourselves at home and expected to see Joana, but we didn't see her for several days. Joana’s husband and another chap arrived the Sunday morning, but our lack of Spanish meant that we weren't aware that he was Joana's husband. They checked the pool and left. We were a little worried about leaving cash in the villa (we had heard about people copying keys and breaking into villas) so we were relieved when we met Joana and handed the cash over!

The villa is in a wonderful location. The gardens are huge! There are loads of fruit trees and a lawn for kids to play on. Lots of places to explore. The pool is a great size, but took some courage to get in! It was very cold. We did have 2 days of rain / cloud which probably didn't help this. The pool was kept beautifully clean by Joana's team and there were a lot of inflatables and toys to play with in the pool which was great.

Joana kindly did some shopping for us and put everything away ready for our arrival. This was great as it meant that we had food and drink to eat on the first night.

The outside, covered part of the villa is so lovely. Loads of places to sit and eat / drink in the evening. The rooftop terrace is also lovely with beautiful views.

The villa itself is charming. The kitchen is small, but functional with oven / dishwasher / washing machine / microwave / fridge-freezer. Plenty of cutlery and crockery and some very sharp knives which is a bonus as most villas we have stayed in are lacking in sharp knives :)

There is a 'toy room' in the basement which is accessed by some steep steps from the kitchen. It is gated so you can stop smaller children from going down. There was a huge selection of games / toys and jigsaw puzzles which we made use of.

The open-plan lounge / dining area was big enough for the 5 of us. Loads of books (English and German mainly) and dvds / VHS Videos (mostly in Spanish). The Satellite TV only had one English channel available whilst we were there. It looked like there should have been more UK channels as some were saved into 'favourites', but none were working when we tried them. We all had tablets with us and had taken DVDs so we didn't bother Joana about this, but it would have been nice to have had something to watch other than Sky news, especially for the little one.

There are lots of ornaments and art in the rooms which was nice to see. The living area has a very lived-in look to it - it was like staying in someone's house rather than a typical villa that we're used to. We didn't get the Air con. working in the living area as we couldn't find the remote for it, but the ceiling fan was good.

The bathrooms are, as mentioned on another review here, perfectly serviceable, but perhaps in need of an upgrade. There was enough hot water for a shower each, but we found we ran out if someone had a bath instead.
We had an issue with water when we were there - there was no Cold water. I called Joana and she and her husband were there within 30 mins and sorted the issue out. The water for the villa comes from a well under the villa and the tank had become empty - fascinating to hear the water from the well poring into the tanks!

There are 3 bedrooms. 2 have twin beds and one is a double. One of the twin rooms is en-suite. My husband and I had the double room. The air con was lovely as it did get very hot whilst we were there. The main issue that I had with this room was the bed. It wasn't very comfortable and we ended up having to make a mattress topper out of a bedspread. We're used to a very good bed back at home though so perhaps been a bit spoilt.
All bedrooms had plenty of wardrobe / drawer space and were spotlessly clean.

We worked out how to use the Wi-Fi on the Sunday. The password was underneath the router. The Wi-Fi was better than most villas we had stayed in and was fine for 4 tablets plus phones running off it.

There are plenty of bath and beach/pool towels available. We washed our bedding half way through the holiday - Joana did ask if we needed extra linen, but we were all fine with what we had.

The location is wonderful. Surrounded by farmland (and lovely chickens / guinea fowl etc) and other villas and on a quiet road which is mainly used by walkers. At the end of this road is a ‘refuge’ hostel for walkers and we enjoyed some evening drinks here when we didn’t want to walk into the town.

The town is around a mile to the centre square / 365 steps. There is an Eroski in the centre of the town which is great for shopping. There is also a ‘BIP’ supermarket nearer to the villa which has an excellent butchers inside. The larger Erosksi is around 2 miles away next to the Lidl – we easily walked there, but taxis are available if you prefer.

The town itself is fabulous and we had some superb meals in local restaurants. It’s a lovely place and great to explore. A particular mention for La Placeta where we had a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary which was absolutely wonderful.

My husband and I love walking and we walked to Puerto Pollensa and then on to Alcudia which we enjoyed. We found the taxis really easy to find and great value (10 euro to Puerto Pollensa and 15 to Alcudia)

I think if there had been some instructions about how to use the Wi-Fi / where the outdoor light switches were and which operated which light / how to use the oven and washing machine etc. it would help. We worked everything out, but it's the first place we have ever stayed at where we haven't been met by someone and shown around. As a result, we were still finding things days into the holiday that could easily have been explained to us. When leaving we were unsure about where to leave the keys so eventually left the villa unlocked with keys on the table as we found it.

I would certainly return to the villa and would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.
