Place was absolutely breathtaking. Went snorkeling and wished had took under water camera as sea is so lovely and plenty of fish. Only went for 5 nights but could have stayed longer. Staff at hotel couldn't help enough and so friendly. Only a 10 minute taxi drive to plakias which hotel staff will phone for you. Would definitely recommend

My wife and I spent here 8 days in the beginning of September. We really enjoyed swimming in a small bay with clear water surrounded by sheer cliffs. The location of Kalypso Cretan village is fantastic as you can find a small paradise between stern cliffs. There are 3 swimming pools with sea water but we prefered the bay. Hotel gives a rare opportunity on Crete - to make scuba diving with instructor. Local diving sites are rather interesting as you can find caves and rocks inhabited with octopus and moray eels. Using a car or a taxi or a boat you can easily see interesting surroundings: Monastery of Preveli, Plakias, Damnoni beach, Frankocastello..
The staff was very hospitable specialy we liked the night administrator Yorgos George who had welcomed us in a mid night of our arrival to Kalypso. His friendly welcome and night supper save us after 8 hours trip. Fore sure for next trip to Crete we will choose Kalypso again!

Room Tip: Higher bungalows are quiter and have good sea view

Stayed here only for one night with my partner and it was so luxurious!!! Food and staff was amazing!!

Had a variety of activities that you could join and 3 different pools to choose from where you could go and sunbathe. The views where unbelievable from our balcony and would 100% stay here again.

Thank-you for your great service!

My partner and I spent a week here and really enjoyed it, the setting is lovely, the staff really friendly and helpful, I contacted the hotel before going and received prompt and helpful replies. The resort is generally quiet with activities if you want to join in but the set up means you can avoid or join in as you feel, the almost enclosed bay provides great snorkelling with an abundance of fish to see. The 3 pools are salt water with sun or shade, Plenty of loungers in sun or shade. The food was very good lots of options, fresh fruit, salads

Kalypso Cretan village is set in a stunning location and is perfect for a quiet relaxing vacation. All the staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English. Our room was nice if a little basic( but to be honest how much time do you spend in the room?) I think it could benefit from tea and coffee making facilities. You have to wait for the restaurant to open before being able to get a drink. The room had a fridge and a TV with one English Channel but was set to a volume of 17, which was barely audible. Can't think why it would be set like this? Again not a major problem.
We went B&B and there was a lot of choice for breakfast inc cold meats and cheeses, salads fresh bread, fresh fruit, and also a cooked breakfast which changed every day. We used the restaurant three evenings and again buffet style food and plenty of choice. Food was really tasty and plentiful. Lovely terrace to sit outside and enjoy your dinner.
There were three swimming pools, 2 of which are salt water and one fresh. Down at "the beach" you have to pay 5 euros per person for hire of sun beds which we thought was OK as such a stunning location. The sea was so warm and clear and excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving.
We got a taxi most nights into plakias which only cost 7 euros and the hotel are happy to order it for you. In plakias there are lots of very nice places to eat and reasonably priced. At the end of every meal you are given complimentary "raki" which is the local drink and is pretty fiery. The weather was amazing and I would recommend going in September as the sea is so warm. Every day was 38 degrees plus.
Overall a fantastic location and great holiday and would definitely go again.
