My wife and I have been to this restaurant several times and will probably return again when the craving for fish hits us again.
However, the experience is always mediocre. The service tends to be rushed and non-engaged, the place always smells strongly of kitchen flavours, and the quality of the food is so-so.
The last 2 times we have been to Ocean Basket at Cresta have been marked by menu options not being available. In particular, the veggie selection that accompanies their options. This time it was the stirfry and the butternut that was not available. I find that very difficult to understand, as neither of these items are seasonal or have to be sourced from some exotic far-away supplier.
We both ordered fish and calamari. It was as predictable as expected. The fish was cooked reasonably well and the calamari was OK, but again typical of the rushed non-engaged franchise type kitchens.
One of the things we would recommend when you visit any Ocean Basket outlet is to ask for extra lemon-butter sauce. They gladly supply you with a bowl of this very delicious sauce that elevates the run-of-the-mill fish to a slightly higher level.
