I don't understand how this camp gets all the 5 stars ratings. There is nothing authentic about this so-called Bedouin camp. The camp is designed only for tourist and lacks the sense of community that defines the Bedouin culture. Don't get me wrong, as far as camping goes, the facilities in this camp is pretty decent. However, if you are looking for a decent stay, there are plenty of alternatives near Petra; if you are looking for authentic Bedouin experience, you will get a better experience in Wadi Rum.

Value-for-money
- The price for this camp is definitely not cheap. The camp is pretty far away from Petra, and one way transfer will cost you 5 JD. If you are staying here for 2-3 days, the transportation cost + lodging cost is more than enough for you to get a decent hotel a few mins away from Petra.
- Unless you don't have time to visit Wadi Rum and wants to experience a some-what "Bedouin" experience; otherwise there is no reason why you should stay here.

TL;DR: Stay in this camp only you are not visiting Wadi Rum and are looking for somewhat glamping experience.

Bedouin Hospitality
- Petra is our first stop after our flight in so we thought why not save us some trouble and engage the camp for airport pick-up service. We were well received at the airport. The driver spoke decent English and were courteous. Things were alright, so far.
- The journey from airport to camp took about 3 hours. Along the way the driver started probing if we are interested in engaging them for further services such as alternative hike to Petra via the backway, or onward transportation to Wadi Rum etc. We had everything planned out and thus politely rejected his offer - this is when their true color shows. Once they have determined that you are of no further value to them they basically stop talking to you. No more warm reception, no more "how are you". You are basically non-existence to them after you rejected their offer.
- The camp stated if you choose to depart early you can ask for a breakfast bag to-go. However because we choose to take a bus instead of engaging their transportation service, they told us no breakfast will be provided. So much for Bedouin hospitality.

TL;DR: You will get good service IF AND ONLY IF you engage them for other services such as transportation and tours.

Authentic Bedouin Dinner
- The camp promises authentic "Bedouin" dining experience; however the reality could not be further from the truth. The food does not seem to be cooked on the ground, but was carried in large containers covered in foil. There was not much choice: humus, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, pita, a tray of chicken with rice and that's all.
- For the price of 10 JD per person you can get a decent meal from any of the restaurant in town

TL;DR: The food is some cheap take-away and absolutely not worth the 10 JD price tag.

Bottom-line
- If you are looking for value-for-money options, wanting to experience Bedouin hospitality, and to try out some authentic Bedouin dinner; look elsewhere. The only reason why you should stay in this camp is you are not visiting Wadi Rum and are looking for somewhat glamping experience. Otherwise there are better/cheaper alternatives.

If you visit Petra, then stay at this camp and nowhere else. From the owner Atef, who speaks excellant english and very humorous, to young Mohammed his left hand man and all other people working at this camp will make your stay here a memorable one, I gurantee you this. We stayed here for 2 nights and I regret not stying longer to enjoy the hospitality of the 7 wonder Beduin Camp. From food (dinner) to the evning gathering at the campsite is unforgetable. Owner Atef works from 6am to 12 midnight to make sure that his guests are all taken care of. He will assist you from arranging ride to Petra and back (15 minutes), to Wadi Rum (2 hours each way), picking you up from Amman airport and return (3 hours each way) at a very reasonable price. He will personally see to it that you had dinner and breakfast. They serve free refreshing tea in the evening as much as you want. He sent his brother Hashem-who speaks good English, to pick us up fom Amman. We chose King's Highway to get to the camp. Although it takes longer and cost a little more to come this way, but I highly recommend that you do the same. Hashem stopped in the middle of the desert to make us tea and to show us bedouins and how they live and later for BBQ. What an experience. Many historical sites along the King's Highway and awesome view and drive by the Dead Sea, Although it's a "common" toilet/shower facility at the camp, but very clean with adequate supplies of toiletries. They have good internet facility at the main hang out area. No tv. Sound from the tv will completely ruin the atmosphere. It was Atef who advised me to get JORDAN PASS before we arrive Jordan. It saved us a lot of money and hassles. My experiens at this camp is UNFORGETTABLE.. If you truely want to experience Petra and have a memorable vacation, stay here for minium 2/3 nights. I swear you will love every minute of it. I shall visit ths camp again in the future with more friends

The staff at the Seven Wonders Camp is absolutely fabulous and couldn't be more accomodating then they were. Things we loved,

1) Upon our arrival an absolutely fabulous dinner was provided. It included many fresh vegetables, chicken and rice, and other local side dishes. They also had many vegetarian options.

2) In the evening they setup a wonderful fire in a common tent and served tea. It was charming and gave travelers a chance to decompress with the locals.

3) We did not want to do the conventional busy hike into Petra as almost all tourists do. Instead we requested one of the camp staff take us in the back way from little Petra. This was absolutely the way to go. Views were incredible and it felt as if it was just us with no other tourists. They drive you about 1 mile into save you time walking giving you about a 90 minute hike into Petra. Additionally, the staff volunteered to take our luggage to our next destination in town so we did not have to return to camp after our day of events.

The only piece that was not idea was the actual tents. While they were large and had real beds, they did not feel clean and were slightly musty. We brought sleeping bag liners giving us peace of mind. I would return for the service and landscape around you rather then the tent itself.

Room tip: As for a room in interior rather then the exterior.

It was beautiful camp rested in between hillocks. We checked in around 7PM. With the lighted hills, the place looked amazing. It is a nice and clean camp. We were quickly escorted to our tent. The tents were perfect. As it was winter, camp provided heavy bedding. The shared bathrooms were clean and we got hot water post 8PM. The camp has a common tent for hanging out. You can smoke sheesha there. The tent had a single charging point, so we spent the rest of the evening in their common tent charging our camera battery and other mobile. The common tent was cozy, and we were served unlimited Bedouin tea. The fireplace was keeping the tent warm; and in a chilly windy winter evening, it felt comfy inside. Light was out at sharp 11PM. Next morning breakfast was good, but they were taking time to refill the stocks.
Taking 2 stars away for:
• They ran out of hot water in the morning in bath and water all together for loo.
• The direction signboard says it’s only 500mtr from main road, which is not true. It’s around 2KM from main road, which I felt is misleading.
It was ok to stay for a night. I would recommend this camp for a night’s stay to experience the place.

Perfectly good place with a really nice atmosphere! If you look for a special place you should definitly go :) The people there are super friendly, breakfast is great and the atmosphere in the evening is really good! You will sit together in a big tent or outside around the fire, there will be music and tea and a lot of opportunitys to talk to people.
Facilities are good and clean aswell and you won't be cold during the night since there are lot of blankets in your tent. They will also pick you up and drive you to petra in the morning so you really don't have to bother about that!
We only booked one night and moved to the center in wadi musa after that which we really regreted!
