This is another highlight in Petra. It is right at the start of the trail so you can’t really miss it. Absolutely worth seeing.

This is a MUST SEE if you ever get to Jordan! It will take your breath away when you see the ruins that are thousands of years old!

On your walk to the entrance of the Siq from the Petra Visitor Centre, you will come across the Obelisk Tomb among many other relics of the past. One of the more well preserved monuments within the Petra area, this makes for a good photo stop.

Many visitors to Petra stride past this and the other tombs, thinking Petra starts at the Treasury. It doesn't. These ancient tombs are every bit a part of the Petra story and are in fact more impressive than many in the main Petra site.

This will be the first major monument that you see, even before you get to the Siq. It's a combination of a tomb on top and a triclinium (feasting hall) on the bottom. You can actually climb up to the tomb on top and go inside.
