We were just here with our kids (5.5yr and 7yr olds) in the Seaview villa for 4nights last week. Boutique resort but service wasnt as good as I expected from a 5 Star, nice pool (bar kids) and beautiful beach setting/view but I didnt feel like it was the best bang for my buck plus it wasnt child-friendly. You get charged for children's bedding unless they share your bed and was told only the Seaview Villa has space to fit 4 of us. It felt more like a resort catered for couples who were here for their honeymoon and we were the only ones with kids until the end of our stay when a couple arrived with a baby.

Rooms: We were allocated the last available Seaview villa which happened to be next to the Thai restaurant where breakfast was also held (villa 105) so it was definitely noisy at night with the singing and the dishes clinking away in the early morning. If you want a seaview villa, would recommend seaview villas (102-104) away from the 2 restuarants. But I did remember looking up from the pool and thinking those upper floor rooms overlooking the pools could be nice (note: I did NOT check those rooms out).

Restaurants: Breakfast (held at Thai restaurant) was great with variety, highly recommend the Italian restaurant (we were there for 2 dinners). The Thai restaurant wasnt cheap and you can definitely find it much cheaper (1/2 price?) at one of the Thai restuarants along the beach, 5-10mins away by foot.

Other Facilities: Tried the (small but functional) gym behind the pool but not the spa. They offer free yoga and thai boxing classes for hotel guests on certain mornings which was a good way to spend the morning.

Room tip: Choose villa 102-104 if you want a seaview villa, make sure its not next to either restaurant.

Dear JNg512,

Thank you very much for sharing your valuable comments.

Let us break down to:

1. We are more of adult resort. We decline family with children under 10 from December to February. There are limited children facilities. But there are many family guests who satisfied and enjoyed their stay. Some guests say that the best place for kids is the beach. Tubkaak Beach is mostly calm all year round.

2. Our reservation staff could have offered the Pool Villa which is more spacious than Seaview room as you are couple with 2 kids. However, it will be concern about child safety. We could allow children to stay in this villa if parents insist to and responsible for their safety.

3. Noise from the restaurant that disturbed your stay is really our fault. We are so sorry for that and have rectified to restaurant staff.

During your stay, our staff have done their best to service you and your kids as you could see that. Food pricing is subjective. We cannot be the same price as some local place because we must comply with regulation of food safety, quality ingredients, taxes, waste water management, etc. Price comparison between a low cost airline and the regular airline of the same route is obviously very different.

We appreciate and will use your comments to improve our service and reservation communication. Thank you once again and hope to see you around on Tubkaak Beach.

Best regards,

Sunyadech Srimanee

I just returned from a three night trip at the Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort, and all I can say was that I was blown away by the outstanding level of service, as well as the overall vibe of the hotel. Let me start off by saying that I live in Thailand and have been to many, many, hotels all over the country. The level of service at Tubkaak is far, far, above the norm. Checking in was a breeze as was check out. Any Thailand veteran can tell you this is not always the case (the last place I stayed in Phuket insisted on photocopying my credit card). Service through out my stay was extraordinary. Examples. The day before I left, Khun Punch approached my girlfriend and I at breakfast to confirm we were in fact checking out the next day and to inquire as to whether we had arranged transportation. Having learned we had lined up a car, she asked if she wanted us to have her call the driver to confirm. Outstanding. Khun Sunny, the manager stopped me at the pool to ask how our stay was; he genuinely seemed to care about whether we were enjoying our stay and went the extra mile to ensure that everything was up to snuff.

Other small touches abounded. Our room had a coffee maker (coffee pods) and each day it was not only restocked, but we were provided with a new container of fresh milk each day. Excellent service aside, the beach at the hotel is amazing. Not crowded at all with stunning views. Also the hotel offered numerous activities, for free. Great yoga class; free bikes, and free sea kayaks. Additionally the spa is fantastic. If you are looking for a quiet tropical getaway, this is what you were imagining. For sure we will come back.

So negatives. None at the property, however, the hotel's strongest point may be its one week point. The location is incredible, but you are far from any local restaurants, if you want to venture off the hotel grounds. There are a few restaurants down the beach, but they were not very good. One day my girlfriend and I biked to about 5-6 kilos to some of the other major hotels, and there were more restaurants, but nothing that looked very good. So in Krabi you are not going to find the plethora of great seafood you will find in Phuket, on the other hand Krabi is just SO much nicer and less touristy. The Thai restaurant at the hotel was good, but not exceptional. The Italian restaurant however was shockingly good. One other thing on service. At Thai restaurants in Thailand, if you order five dishes, they almost never come out at the same time. Here they did. For the uninitiated this is the equivalent of the moon landing. Totally exceptional. I don't know who manages this property, but they are very, very good at their job. Hat's off to the staff, incredible service and a great long weekend, for sure I will return.

The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique resort is a forty minute drive from Krabi airport, set in a forested coastal area right on a pristine beach that faces west and captures breathtaking sunsets. Some 4km offshore are a number of small uninhabited islands that can be accessed by boat (recommended).

The hotel consists of a number of villas dotted throughout the forested area, some individual but most subdivided into apartments. The apartments are clean, modern and have outdoor showers and baths.

The hotel has a Thai and an Italian restaurant. We only ate at the Thai restaurant and the food was excellent and with quite an extensive menu. There is a wine cellar and wines are reasonably priced for Thailand. Service was very friendly and of a high standard.

This is a good resort for relaxing and unwinding. For people looking for beautiful beaches, clear water and a laid back resort this is perfect.

Stayed here for 9 nights and loved it. Was probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in due to the calm and serene atmosphere
The housekeeping ladies were very efficient - reception most helpful and most concerned for our welfare and the restaurants were excellent. Can't understand that some people say that they are pricey - I really think they are comparing apples with pears if you compare the prices of an excellently presented meal with fresh ingredients in wonderful surroundings with other less attractive restaurants. The prices were perfectly acceptable in relation to the service and quality provided. A wonderful hotel - a wonderful holiday. Thankyou.

We stayed here for a week at the end of our travels in Thailand.

It was approximately a 50 minute drive from Krabi airport and is away from Krabi and Ao Nang but that is exactly what we wanted.

The staff were superb in their attention to detail and the happiness of our stay. Nothing was too much and it made a difference to our stay. You felt a genuine investment from them in the hotel and you. Being stopped by a manager for a chat about how our holiday was going was also a lovely touch.

The room we stayed in was near the pool and on the second floor. However we never heard any noise as the pool had a relaxed feel to it. The room itself was impressive. Outdoor rainfall shower and outdoor bath were particularly welcomed.

The most impressive thing about this hotel however is the beach and the view. It is simply stunning. The beach itself in front of the hotel has also been built up a little in comparison to the other 2 neighbouring hotels so even at high tide there is ample
Room to sit on the hotel’s bean bags and watch the sunset. Put simply you won’t see another sun set like it. The hotel putting happy hour at the same time as sunset is also a nice touch.

We used the spa and had massages, which were very impressive. You could probably get them cheaper if you travelled 20 minutes to Krabi itself but that’s not the point. It is relaxing to just wonder over from the pool at your allotted time for your massage rather than to organise taxis etc just to go and get a massage. If you visit I would recommend a Thai Oil massage.

The restaurants were also fantastic but I’ll review those individually. We also organised several trips through the hotel that were easy and went off without a hitch. These were to Hong Islands and Phi Phi islands. Because the Phi Phi trip was an early start they packed us a breakfast to take with us...same on our day of departure as we had an early flight. Lovely touches/flourishes to an already wonderful hotel.

Overall this place is just a 5 Star Resort and you won’t be disappointed.
