Amazing service!!!!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 May 2018via mobile
7 of us stayed in one of Sandrine’s properties at Villas agua dulce and we had an amazing time. We were provided with everything we needed and the service provided by everyone at the property was amazing. Anything we needed they were there to help and made us feel at home at all times. If you have any questions whatsoever feel free to reach out to Sandrine and she will respond as soon ASAP. Don’t hesitate to stay here if you want a beautiful property and privacy with access to the outside world. We usually don’t go to the same place twice, but we will be back if we’re able to!

Since 2014 I've stayed at Villa Agua Dulce each and every time I traveled to Dominican Republic. So far, I have stayed in 6 of the villa's there. I feel safe, if there are any issues they are addressed. The property is quiet and beautiful slightly off the grid but that is one of the main reasons why I stayed there. I have friends whom have stayed there too. We all feel the same way about Agua. Trip High light this time, professional massage at in the villa I was renting. Not having to leave was a wonderful care free experience. They also have a Professional Spa center on the grounds.

We had a great stay at Sandrine's house in Sosua / Puerto Plata area. Prior to our arrival we did read some mixed reviews, however our experience was great!!

Sandrine was extremely prompt when communicating with us prior to our arrival and any questions we had. Checking in was seamless and she provided us with all the information for the house and services that could be arranged. I would definitely recommend renting a car if you are visiting as the house is up in the hills and no services are in walking distance, however, you may not want to leave the house. The house is secure and the area has a security gate for entrance, we did not feel unsafe for a minute. The wi-fi and cable worked excellent for us as well.

The house was exactly as pictured and the views were actually better than advertised. The house is super contemporary, the A/C in the bedrooms worked extremely well (we had to turn them off during the night as it got too cold, ha), and all parts of the house were in good condition. The pool is great and perfect for lounging by for a full day. Being in the tropics, you would expect bugs, and there were very, very few in general even with having the doors open. We did have one scare with a large spider that ended up being more funny than off putting, but again that's what you would expect in any place that has humidity and warm weather.

Sandrine provided us with her WhatsApp contact and we had no problem at all communicating with her. She gave us great suggestions for places to eat and visit in the area as well as arranging a chef to come in and cook a typical Dominican diner at our house one evening. The house comes with a price listing for services as well as the costs for the mini-bar, so there was no guessing or surprises. The staff do conduct a thorough check-out making sure nothing is missing or broken, that you will be charged for. We accidently broke a glass one night that we did pay for, but again that info is provided in the house guide provided when you check-in.

All-in-all a very nice house, great pool and views of the ocean, and a quick drive to town and the beaches.

Disclaimer: I love TripAdvisor been using it for some years now however like some other travel sites they don’t always have the updated calendar as the hotel/resort etc. So for Villas Agua Dulce I would recommend booking direct through Sandrine the owner that way you don’t end up in a situation you’ll regret. Now back to my scheduled review already in progress....Me and my wife never been to Dominican Republic so this was a new experience nor do we speak Spanish unfortunately and highly recommended to help things run smoother for you while on the island. We booked a rental which I won’t mention in this review since things changed when we landed. Another quick tip so you don’t make the same mistake I did booking make sure to do some research on the area. I wanted seclusion and that’s what we got however it was a bit intimidating at first basically being in the middle of nowhere even stated by the locals and away from other gringos aka Americans. We never had any problems with security and was well protected I also would recommend being being friendly and making friends with the locals networking is great and again makes the trip more enjoyable. Understand like we did that due to cultural differences they move a different pace so when in Rome do as the Romans do. Check in was pretty smooth had some issues on my end of internet at the beginning but Ms Sandrine and Ms Merry were patient and helped me get situated with the free wifi also pretty fast for being located in the middle of nowhere. :) Once checked in we followed Ms Merry to our villa which you proceed through a motorized security gate to enter the area for the villas. Very steep hill but the car we had made it with no problems. Very beautiful villas with plenty of space we stayed in the “Dominicana” or villa 10 which is the 2 bed 2 in half bath with private pool. Fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, washer and dryer, double vanity in both rooms, regular size fridge and freezer, stovetop grill and multi function oven, microwave, blender, etc. basically a home away from home. Furniture throughout the whole house our only gripes were the bugs like ants, flying insects and spiders and the throw pillows had some stains on them. The washer didn’t work however Sandrine allowed us to wash clothes at the office free of charge and had our clothes nicely folded and sent right back to us. The villas are located in the hills from where we were there was an ocean view just kind of far but still beautiful nonetheless. We had some issues with our rental in which Luis the maintenance man helped us with including our fridge again no extra charges. The cleaning maids were attentive as well which came everyday in the morning. We stayed for a whole week Dec 11-18 and enjoyed every minute despite minors hiccups Sandrine and her staff made our trip nice and smooth. I forgot to mention they do require a cash deposit of 200$ for any charges that may occur during your stay however we didn’t have any and got our 200$ cash back upon check out with no problems. They have a list of excursions to check out and give you restaurants and beaches they recommend you check out while there. Sosua beaches and Cabarete which is like 7minutes away in opposite directions of each other are nice. Would recommend checking out and worth a look. We got complimentary coconut water and massage toilettes for our honeymoon from Ms Sandrine very attentive to our needs and nice and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves would have to come back in the future.

I stayed in the one-bedroom apartment. Though the place was very cool it came without a water cooler so you had to drink warm water after I had to ask for a bottle. I've been to this country 20 times and never had to ask for water. The electrical system is absolutely ridiculous in the breaker box flips on and off all night long and you can't get more than an hour of sleep without all the electric turning on and off including fans and air conditioners. While this is happening the breaker box is making a loud clicking noise which will wake you up out of a sound sleep. The place is beautiful but I will never stay here again. It's entirely too far from everything and the lack of sleep for the last 3 days is taking its toll on me. Lastly after 5 it's difficult to reach anyone regarding issues. Maybe the two and three-bedroom Villas are better but I will never stay in the one-bedroom apartment again. I'm heading to Santo Domingo for one night and hoping to get a good night's sleep there.. I will contact my credit card company when I get back to the States because these people here are simply yessing me to death.

We decided to take a trip to DR as per my daughters request for her 16th birthday... Instead of staying at a resort we were referred by a friend to Agua Villa Dulce & it was the best decision we made, especially traveling with 9 people! First let me say, Sandrine is wonderful and communicated with me on everything I inquired about. She is also very good to her staff, they are like one big family and it shows! Jovany was extremely helpful with information and helping us coordinate some excursions. Anything we needed, he was there for us! We rented a car & visited Playa Alicia, ate at Bailey's a couple of days but cooked most days, drove to Salcedo to visit family, did Monkey Jungle and Zip lining, went snorkeling & did the ATVs. So much fun! We rented Villa Karma and Loft Paraiso... the pictures do not them justice... They are Gorgeous! The Villas sit in the mountains with a gorgeous view! The kitchen is fully equipped and they even provide you with a grill. The pool was maintained every morning & house keeping came every day to make the beds, wash the sheets and straighten up for us, if needed. All the ladies were very sweet. The guards at night were very conscious about who was around and although it is quite dark, they had flashlights to light the pathway as we went to visit the loft we rented and were also very respectful to us as "visitors". My daughter and my family got exactly what we wanted out of this trip and living in the lap of luxury at Agua Villa Dulce made it even better! When we go back to DR, Villa Agua Dulce is where we will be staying!! Thank you to everyone for making this Sweet 16 very special for my daughter!
