The first time I visited this hotel it was at a reasonable price. Afterwards the price went up and the service was bad. A.c didn't work properly, the room smelled of smoke, and the receptionist (female) had a bad attitude the whole time I was there. It is a good location to be in but many hotels to choose from around that same location also.

You can't do better for the price. Located across the street from the huge building where you can buy everything from food to clothing to jewelry. Entertainment and dinning are a short taxi ride away. There are plenty of taxis around the hotel. Staff is courteous and there's one gentleman who speaks perfect english. He is the grandson of the original owner. He moved back from Texas to help with the family business. Chetumal seaside boardwalk is beautiful and popular with tourists and locals as well. It appears the best restaurants and entertainment are around the water.

When we arrived Chetumal, this was one of the first places we have seen and since we planned to leave early morning next day its location right next to the bus terminal plus the reasonable price of 400M$ suited us just fine.

The rooms are basic: spacious with two double beds, TV, aircon and private bathroom. Clean beds and sheets, neat and nicely decorated towels. Staff was friendly and patient with our little Spanish.

As read in previous reviews, the rooms are located in a small alley next to bus station and a market, meaning you get a lot of noise due to light doors and those typical windows.

Its definitely nothing to stay for long but for one night and leaving with an early bus it was just perfect!

When you enter the hotel you get nice impression of what looks like a great hotel. Nice big lobby. Restaurant just behind it and a very warm welcome by the two ladies... when you go up the stairs on your way to your room everything looks great.. you enter the room and see a big king size bed which you just want to jump into after a long journey from palenque.. don't do this.. its a matras on concrete! You can imagine sleeping here with a bad back is like hell! Hot shower.. it takes a long time before the water gets hot and its hard to find the right temperature.. and the water comes out without any pressure..

I will not recommend this place. Spend a little more and find a nice place near the beach.. the indoor market here is a made in china production market. No need to see that one..

The place is in a good location, has a nice and safe parking and the man at the reception is friendly and very helpful. The room though was not what we expected from a 3 star hotel: the bed stank old linen, a strong smell that bothered me all night long, and the room's door could be easily unlocked from the outside due to a hole next to the lock, that made us feel not very safe because the rooms give access to the outdoors, just like those american motels.
