Piatra Craiului National Park is one of the most beautiful places in Romania. It has great landscapes and provides a peaceful place to relax. You can go hiking or climbing, or you can just relax while sitting under the highest peaks of Piatra Craiului Mountains. Trails are very well marked and there are many touristic information on these trails.

we went to the turist information who gave us a map end were very friendly. we bought some picnic matirials at the nearest supermarket and drove to the fountain and just parked next to it although you can just carry on and find priper parking. we took walking stiks which were essencial due to the ice on the trail. we walked slowlly admiring the view espacilly after we entered the groge. we even had a picnic in one of the caves. just one of the great days we had.

Unfortunately we had only 2 hours to hike here. One can spend a whole day or stay overnight camping on your own (it is cold here). The entrance is beautiful. The walk between two cliffs in the valley with tall trees and autumn colours is breathtaking. Should be Nature lovers and trekkers first choice in Romania. Felt refreshed and refilled after the walk.

I was apprehensive initially to trek inside the National Park, but it was so safe. There were clearly marked blue and yellow signs painted on the trees and rocks to guide you safely to the peak or the cabana. It was a bit steep at some routes but manageable. So cooling and beautiful inside the forest. Cabana Curmatura was a definite blessing to be there because the hot food and environment was so welcoming. Go.
