We booked our rooms directly by emailing the hotel. Response time was reasonable and efficient. We were traveling from Seoul by bus and arrived at the express bus terminal in sokcho. Once you arrive at the express bus terminal, just walk towards the main road, cross the road and wait at the nearby bus stop. Wait for bus no. 1, 7 or 9. It costs KRW1,000 per pax and it is only about 5 minutes journey to the hotel. Please let the bus driver know so that he can give you a shout when it reaches the hotel. You need to walk about 3-5 mins from the bus stop to the hotel.

Hotel is located on a mini hill facing the ocean. Hotel looking good from outside as Sokcho is a small city in Korea. We were allowed to check in at 1pm which is perfect. Our rooms are of reasonable size, we had great ocean view, the beds are comfortable so does the bathroom. It does have a balcony which is great. Rooms are good, modern and classy. It does look like a 4 star-5 star room.

Hotel is located in the mid point to Seoraksan. So, it is a good base for those planning to hike in Mount Seorak as the bus stop to Seorak (on bus No. 7 or 7-1) is located about 3 mins walking from the hotel. It is about 20-30 mins journey to the base of Seoraksan.

We find this hotel very good and relaxing. It is also very convenient. Although it is located in sokcho city centre itself, we have no regrets as the hotel is facing the ocean.

The highlight of this hotel is to take its ocean view room (and you will get a good sunrise view in the morning which is amazing). The buffet breakfast which was included in our rate is also quite good with plenty of selections (mixture of international and korean). We have no issues on the breakfast.

Overall, would recommend this hotel if you are visiting sokcho or mount seorak.

Stayed here for a weekend as part of a trip to Soraksan. We had a translator, so we didn't seem to experience language barriers, and I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. My favorite thing about this hotel is it's coastal location and I spent hours wandering the seafood market just a little bit up the road. If you have never been to an open air market GO! It was so awesome and the Korean ladies allowed me to hold alot of the live crabs and octopus. My favorite part of the trip was accidently waking up at 4 am and watching the fishing boats bob along in the dark. An awesome experience that has stayed with me. I also found the restaurant on top of the hotel to be a very nice assortment of korean foods, and they had a very enjoyable live band and reasonably priced drinks at the bar.

This hotel was booked for me so it may be the best available but I will seek elsewhere next time. Overall the place seems dated and worn. Air conditioning worked for a few hours on one day out of three in hot humid weather. Only about half the electronic controls for lights etc. worked. No WIFI available in hotel and the in-room computers are in Korean and are very slow. (the keyboard control for alphabet didn't work)

Breakfast buffet, while reasonably priced, is below average. Very few staff are conversant in English.

The hotel has a great view of the ocean and has beautiful sunrise when clear. Due to traffic it's not easy to get to the oceanside walk and the location is far from most places I needed to go in Central Sokcho.

Sokcho itself is a wonderful little city set in beautiful natural surroundings.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room. Otherwise there is really no point in staying here.

Stayed here for 1 night in August as part of my trip to Seoul, stayed here because we scheduled a day of activities in Soraksan and did not want to go back to Seoul for the night.

Nothing surprising about th is hotel, while generally clean, it doesn't have much facilities and the staff really can't help you much due to language barriers. As it is up the hill, it is also quite difficult to go out at night once you have checked in, luckily, we knew this would be a problem and bought food from outside before check-in so we didn't have to head out again at night. Our room came with breakfast so we had that in the morning. It was buffet style korean/western mix and to be honest, the food wasn't too bad but watch out for the utensils because not all are sparkly clean. As with everywhere in Korea, the dining area can also get quite hot during breakfast peak so be prepared. A special note tho, they only had 1 coffee machine and there's always a queue there. Also, if you are like me and need REAL coffee in the morning, you are better off buying canned coffee the night before for breakfast than try to get your daily fix through what they have on offer. While their coffee does not taste bad, it just doesn't taste coffee and definitely won't do anything for you except make you go to the loo, so watch out for that.

In any event, the pillows are not the huge big supporting types but they're adequate and after a long day, we were able to sleep so I guess the bed's also not too bad. The air conditioning is much like the rest of S. Korea where you don't really get to change the temperature but considering the location of this hotel and the time we visited, this didn't present too much of a problem. The room was spacious and we had a balcony where we can see the sun rise, that was the best thing about the room, so we are not complaining.

While this is not a "wow" hotel, I have also slept in far worse hotels than this so in the future, while I will not actively try to stay here again, I am also not against it if I can't find something better.

The location of this hotel is ok as it's within walkable distance to the fish market. Room is clean and large although there are weird facilities such as (a) an in-room PC is offered for free use but the system file is missing; (b) there's a separate guest toilet with a corner vanity; the taps are round but both the hot water and cold water taps are installed just 3mm away from the walls, making it impossible to turn on/off the taps without any struggles.
Only 1 staff we met over 2 days can speak fluent English. Staffs at reception and business centre have problems in understanding and expressing themselves in English - definitely not up to international standard as a 5 stars hotel. I will not recommend this hotel to foreigners at all given the struggle we experienced in communicating with the staffs.
