“Unsuitable Suite”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2010

Found this place in the net to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Got enticed by the Maharashtra and the 1-hour massage promo for Php5,500. It was roomy and quiet except for the sound of passing vehicles along the highway.
Parking: Unsafe. 3 cars squeezed in a tight space in front of the establishment with only about 5-7 meters from the national highway.
Room: We reserved the Maharashtra Suite. They have free wi-fi. Floor not carpeted. Blanket/ comforter clean but overused & threads are coming out. Pillows are suspiciously??? clean (it doesnt smell but the color is suspicious). Exclusive balcony is narrow, un-tiled, grills are rusty with blue paint, with a septic tank smell and pvc pipes were visible(smelled it when I woke up at sunrise), door to the balcony is too small and my fingers were pinned twice, not even a single plant on any of the pots considering that plants are cheap in tagaytay. Curtains had cobwebs and dusty. Lounging chair needs cleaning/replacement. Glass walls are filthy. TV is a 21-inch conventional one (I was expecting an LCD).
Restroom / Bathroom: Spacious. Hot shower isn't always "hot", bath essentials (shampoo, soap and toothpaste) are not for a suite accommodation. No bathrobe, free slippers (we have to share the pair for the shower room), no extra toilet paper, trash bin has no cover, no hair blower, and the worst of all--the bath towels are old, overused and torn!
Reception: needs some refurbishment. lounging chairs and curtains are smelly, dusty and filthy, furniture need some cleaning. We have been seated for twenty minutes in their lounging area but were not even offered any complimentary tea or coffee or even water.
Staff: Friendly but untrained.
Spa: What spa? While it's free (1-hour), I can get a much better spa treatment for Php600 in a Malate spa than the worth Php800 Swedish they offered.
Food: Best beef masala I had ,no question about that. I have requested for a candlelight dinner set up for 2 at the balcony. Good thing weather did not permit. Otherwise we could have ended up gulping the septic tank aroma. Set up was made in the dining area inside the room. Helpful staff. . Breakfast so little. 1 egg, shredded margarine, 2 pieces bread 3slices of cucumber and brewed coffee.
View: Beautiful (sans the septic tank smell).

Over-all assessment: Not worth it. Can't be considered a suite.

I'm actually doing this review while inside the suppoused Maharashtra Presidential Suite. We booked the room for a special weekend together but what I found is a so-so place, not maintained well, There's cat poop (or bird poop? I didnt want to know) in the viewing deck.
It includes a 30 minute massage and a breakfast with two stale bread, if you even call that breakfast. For PhP6,500, I am soooo annoyed with myself for choosing this place instead of the tried and tested Sonya's Garden. I was hoping for that price, they could at least make their Presidential Suite package more special like a 1 hour massage instead of a so-so 20 minute back massage or even a more complete breakfast instead of two bread with margarine. Their staff is not trained well, they were making so much noise in the evenings horsing around with each other---very unprofessional. And oh, their waitresses also double as the masseuse!!!

TOURIST TRAP. With their pictures and website as well as brilliant reviews (you would think they made these reviews themselves) you would think the place is soooo exotic and so special, I'm so sorry to tell you...its not.

I love Tagaytay! Travelers go there for the Taal view and the cool breeze... If that's what you're looking for, then Andanita Taj is the place to be!

We went there last March 20- 21, 2010 together with my cousin and her hubby, couples getaway! The place was perfect for sweetheart who's looking for a romantic view and cozy ambiance.

PROS:
A Bed & Breakfast with only 6 rooms, meaning, peaceful and not crowded, the privacy we're looking for. The lounge's ambiance was perfect; you would want to stay more because of its breathtaking view.
We booked for Casablanca room; we loved the theme- very simple and comfortable.
Their Persian food was very authentic in taste! If you're into this cuisine, you shouldn't miss it! For the four of us, our total bill was P1300 ++, just to give you an idea.
The people there were friendly and hospitable indeed!
I'm very keen when it comes to massage, we had our complimentary back massage for 30 minutes and what can I say? 101% relaxing!

CONS:
Limited Parking - but when we checked-in, luckily there were only two cars.
The bathroom stinks! Molds on the floor. The management should look into it.
The complimentary breakfast disappointed us- slices of bread, butter, slice of cucumber and one egg. (Though you can upgrade it with a charge)
From their website they claimed that their restaurant is 24/7, but when we lounged their by midnight for few drinks, the only available from their menu were (to be specific) San Miguel Pale Pilsen and San Mig Light.

Over-all, we will definitely go back there. For 2999, the perfect view, nice rooms, superb food and great massage.... what more can you ask for? I will surely recommend it to friends especially lovers.

I second the previous review about the breakfast . The complimentary breakfast is just 2 slices bread, shredded butter, 2 slices of cucumber, and 1 egg.

The room we got upon check in has no window, malfunctioning aircon and the worst dirty towels we've seen. They have tight parking for 3 cars in front of the building and backing up to the hi-way is a challenge. We will not stay here again, but maybe just return to eat indian dishes at their restaurant. Finally, we noticed that this BB seems to be popular for sweethearts at their teens.

A very small bed and breakfast with only 6 or 8 rooms. The rooms are theme designed though it is still a bed and breakfast and not to sound like a brat customer-its not a hotel so don't expect five star acommodation. It is actually a three in one establishment. They have a 50-seater 24-hour indian and middle eastern restaurant, a bed and breakfast and an in-house spa. So far, it is one of the most unique places I have visited in Tagaytay. I can lounge inside their couch-filled restaurant or enjoy the best of all things within their establishement: THE HOOKAH!!! They brag that they are the only indian arabic and halal restaurant but i think they are right. Me and my partner stayed at the Casablanca Room and its Moroccan in motif, not really highly ornamanted with Moroccan items but good enough for that subtle ambiance. Though the room is not that big but I guess its perfect for couples. View is fantastic! Overall, it is by far I think one of the most under rated hotels and restaurants in Tagaytay. Their rates range from 2,450 pesos up to as high as 6,999 during their promo period. you can visit their website: www.tajoftagaytay.synthasite.com
By the way, their room package includes free breakfast and massage for two. Note: If you're availing their promo rate, expect a very small breakfast (continental breakfast).
