The hotel is well designed and at first glance had nice rooms. Rooms are large and well decorated. We had a suite with separate room with a hot tub. Flat screen TV and patio were nice. We used the pool and found it to be well kept. Our room, however, had a beautiful tile floor that was very dirty and the safe did not work. Personnel were very responsive and gracious to our requests but the floor really bothered us.

Stayed here recently for a couple of nights while visiting Bagan. Had started out at another slightly cheaper hotel and decided to move to this property after taking a quick look.

Highlights:
- Excellent location, especially for Nguyen-U: Located on the road out of town on the edge of the main temple/stuppa zone. Literally a short walk to smaller temples. A little bit of a walk from many of the restaurants in Nguyen-U itself, but a reasonable bike ride etc.
- Nice design effort: While not functionally perfect, this hotel was built with some attempt at style that one doesn't often see (at least in my experience) in a developing-country situation at two-digit prices. Nice pool with rooms built right around it, with a pleasant sitting/dining area right next to it.

Question marks:
- Jacuzzi: The hotel really hyped the jacuzzis in each room - but the one in ours didn't have enough water pressure to do much. It was located in our room - like all others - somewhat oddly at the front of the room, separated by a cloth door from the bedroom. That said, I guess jacuzzis aren't why one comes to Bagan.
- Internet: Like many places in Myanmar, internet service was questionable - actually appeared to be out at the hotel throughout our stay there.

Otherwise hotel was fine - breakfast reasonable, decent English service at the front desk, etc.

Certainly there are both cheaper places as well as more luxurious/expensive options - but the unique character of this place made for a good accompaniment to the Bagan experience.

The hotel offers nice large bungalow style rooms. We had a very good room, just next to the pool. But what truly makes this hotel a memorable experience is the helpful staff. We arrived in Bagan at 4 am, very tired from the bus ride from Yangon and of course our room was still occupied by other guests. The people at the reception welcomed us and helped us to put down mattresses in the breakfast room, where we were able to sleep until 6 am, when they got our room ready. They even found us a bottle of wine to share while they were doing up the "beds" on the floor. We stayed 3 nights, enjoying bagan and taking pool breaks in the very nice pool area during hot daytime hours. The hotel is relevant to a 4 star hotel I would say, although it only seems to have 2 stars. The location is also good, with easy access to both Old Bagan and Nyaung U. There is a nice restaurant next door that also rents very good bikes with baskets in front for 1000 kyat for half day.

Room Tip: Choose the room upstairs with pool access

At first glance this looked like a fine picturesque hotel, designed by someone with creative flair. But it seems to have lost its pride and things weren't great. The pool is beautiful, and the first afternoon we arrived it was being filled. The next day we had a nice swim, but I noticed there was no pool pump or skimmer. By the next day it was green pea soup - unswimmable.
The room safe had an iffy locking mechanism, but it didn't matter because it wasn't bolted down, so why bother. The bathroom was poor. Our toilet would not fill the tank after flushing, so we had to remove the tank top and use that spray nozzle to fill it, three times we mentioned it to the front desk w no response. The internet never worked; however, the Internet cafe next door worked slowly and sporadically, so it wasn't a regional issue. The hotel rented bikes for 3 USD per day; the Internet cafe restaurant "Queen" had same bikes at two USD per day.

We had a bungalow on the pool and it was huge and clean. Great breakfast. You pay for internet, which is terrible in Bagan but does work. Good location, great staff.
