You have to climb steps to reach this temple. The evening view of this temple is really nice. You can also view the city from the top. Friday you can see people coming here more. Few steps are closed and few are open steps.

We visited Rock Fort during Decmember 2017. I was personally visiting it after almost 20 years and what a lot of change! And all for good too! It has been made so convenient for pilgrims and tourists with handrails and shaded walkways. My mother in her late 60s and with arthritis was able to climb all the way up. Our 7 year oild too climbed it in a jiffy and was extremely excited with all the wind blowing at the top. The darshan to Lord Vinayaga can be made a little better but I guess they have only so much room to work with on top. After the climb it would be better if people were able to see the God a little clearer and without the fear of getting pushed around. But I guess if ytou visit it early during the day it is pretty less crowded and you can wait and have the darshan to your heart's content.

Do visit Mahendravarman's cave temple just before climbing the final stretch. The engravings and the sculpture are very intriguing. Also visit Thayumanavar Swami temple which is quite enormous though it doesn't look that way from outside.

Yet another beautiful temple at hill top. We stayed at hotel near Chatram bus stop. Took an early morning darsahan of the diety.
Its a huge Shiv Lingham.
Language spoken here is Tamil.
Wonderful carvings. You can find ladies paying visit here wear red coloured saree or dress.
The climb is quite high, has steps. Good high cardio for a day. You can take children and senior citizens as well. At places they can sit and also yoy can watch different carvings.
The architecture is amazing. You must have a curious eye to see and understand these temples. At one place there was early morning sunlight falling on a ganesha diety carved on a pillar. Its amazing architectural marvel. I have this video. To read more about it you can visit my Geo-Tourism blog.
