Lodha Dharamshala provides low cost accommodation at Ajmer. The charges for self contained Double Bed Air Cooled Room were only Rs. 400 per day. Attached Wash Room had western toilet (as desired by us) and Hot Water was available all the 24 hours.

The advantages of seeking accommodation here are :

1) Located at a distance of just 200 metres from Ajmer Rly. Station.
2) Round the Clock Reception Counter.
3) Renovated building, around 75 years old, has exterior having 'Heritage Looks'.
4) Ample of Parking Space for 4 wheelers.
5) Centrally located - Dargah is about 10 minutes by walk, Akbari Fort and Museum just behind it and Soniji ki Nasiyan around 5 minutes walk in a different direction.
6) Several vegetarian restaurants within 1 KM radius - Pehli Mazil is just 1 minute by walk.
7) The best of all is moderate Room Charges for all types of rooms, AC, Air Cooled as well as Standard.
8) Advance Booking is done subject to full or part pre-payment into their Bank A/c.

The following aspects, though improved over 2014 and 2015, need further improvement:

1) The Canteen inside serves tea, snacks, BF, Lunch and Dinner. We preferred only tea.
2) Rooms are SELF locked and cleaning is possible if and only when it is OPEN.
3) The complex may need periodic treatment to keep away insects (it is possible during non-peak tourism days).

Conclusion:
Go ahead if you are staying overnight or for 24 hours or less. For a longer period only if there are monetary compulsions.

I had heard a lot about the "THE LODHA INN" for reasonable rate and accommodation providers. THIS WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE.

The place is very old but with spacious rooms and parking. Staff is also Good and Cooperative. Rates are also reasonable according to that place.

MY PLIGHT: I had stayed in the Room No.229 which is on the first floor and advise you not to take that rook in any condition. The Room has INDIAN SEAT (IN TOILET) which is not all ll fixed properly. You may call it "PUNISHMENT CHAMBER". It is not only very difficult to adjust your body with in the space proved but also to clean your back portion is equally tough task (hard nut to crack) while sitting there.

The Management should immediate take action to change the arrangement to avoid punishing others.

Room Tip: Take any of the rooms but always ensure about the problem mentioned as above

The room was big enough with six single beds, a mirror, a dressing table, clean washroom(with few defects noticed in the one we stayed in) and a certain type of balcony opening to the roadside. There is no room service of any way. There is a tea stall and an average restaurant inside the campus which is sufficient to fulfil the needs but quality is not of standard. Although the view from the Dharmashala cannot be mentioned to be great, but few things like the night lighting view of the Savitri Devi Temple Hill which looks like a Z lit in the night sky, the Akbari Fort(just behind the Dharmashala) and the main road view of Ajmer Prithvi Raj Marg is worth mentioning. The market, the Dargah(Ajmer Sharif), the Ana Sagar, the Ajmer Junction are also near the Dharmashala. In a nutshell, it's very good for tourists and students who come for visiting the place.

Room Tip: "Rooms on the roadside are great"

I had gone with my parents & wanted to stay just for a day as we had this as a breakjourney spot. We did not have any booking & headed for this place. Found rooms to be basic. they did not have the room with TV available.so we had to settle for a normal one without tv. Peaceful area, tidy rooms, okay bathroom & smiling staff with typical sweet accent

They do not do reservations. Typical inn, no room service! they do have sweepers who keep place tidy and clean. but come to room and ask money! plus point its walking distance to railway station and an auto take 5 bucks for bus station. you have to carry your own lock for your rooms as usual.
there are bugs in some rooms. hot water runs only till 9 to 10 am. thats hard!!! AKBARI QUILLA is on back side with museum, and it hosts light and sound show! i would suggest to go for hotel instead!!! parking is big and good!

Room Tip: rooms on front side , that is above the hotel entrance, fall on the live road side which is pretty noisy... prefer for inside rooms!
