The rooms were comfortable and well laid-out. It’s the only hotel I’ve ever seen in China with a potable water spigot. They also supplied bottled water.
The breakfast had a good mix of both Chinese and Western food. They even had donuts. On the 2nd morning, I had to leave before the breakfast area opened. A my Chinese friend’s mother had them prepare a breakfast to go. They were very generous with the amount of food they gave me.
The room’s rug was a little dirty, but otherwise the room was clean.
The only problem I had was with the power. As with many Chinese hotels, you insert your room card to activate power to the room. It worked the very 1st time, but after that I couldn’t get it to work. A manager came up to my room and showed how to jam the card in to get it to work.
However, about a minute after he left, it shut off again. Fortunately, there was just enough ambient light for me to make it to the door (it was disconcerting). I realized I had to jam 2 cards in in order to keep the power on. Hence, if you stay here, ask for 2 room cards.
I spoke with the staff in both English and Chinese and their English skills seemed good.
My room's Wifi worked without a problem. I slept very well in the room.More
