This was one of the better hotels I stayed at in Ethiopia. Views are nice. Restaurant is decent. They rip you off when buying wine but that seems to be an Ethiopian national sport (makes Sydney look cheap!). Rooms are perfectly acceptable with decent new bathrooms. No fans in the room and no flyscreens so they become horribly hot at night. Service is scratchy, but that again seems to be commonplace.

Nicely furnished room, clean and comfortable. The bed mattress was a bit hard. Location on the hill-top overlooking the view of the city of Gondar is definitely attractive. There are 2 small pools (were not clean at all) and a nice dining room with a terrace. Wifi was good in the lobby. Very helpful and good service at the reception desk and dining room.

Set on top of a hill overlooking Gondar, this is a lovely hotel. The views from the pool area and patio bar are magnificent. There is a children's playground, small shop and gift shop on site. The rooms are large and clean. There is a lively bar area and a huge restaurant, part of which is sectioned off for traditional Ethiopian dining. Lunch is served as well as dinner. At dinner there is a choice of a la carte or buffet. Breakfast is a very good buffet style with an egg station. My only complaint is that there are not screens off the windows to keep out the flying insects.

This is probably the best option to stay in Gonder. The hotel is situated on top of a hill in a very quiet area. In February there were quite a lot of tourists. It has a very nice reception, lobby, restaurant, lovely terrace, fantastic view. One has an impression that this is a 4 stars hotel. Unless you see the rooms. They are calling for renovation. The furniture is quite tired and used, the room itself is not very attractive. You do not want to spend there an extra time beside sleeping. The bathroom is o.k. , but the basin is in the room, not in the bathroom. Both room and bathroom are clean. Wi-fi is O.K. Poor lighting.
The restaurant in the hotel is very nice, good food, great variety, also the breakfast was good with a wide variety. They serve very good fresh juices and a great coffee espresso. The staff was nice. They also have a hotel boutique with nice postcards and stamps. So do not miss the opportunity to buy them, because this was the only hotel where I saw selling them.
Yes, the hotel has a swimming pool, but I did not see anybody to swim in. When they renovate the rooms, this will be a lovely place to stay.

I stayed in five hotels during my tour of Ethiopia. This one was by far the best. The view from the restaurant and pool area was awesome. It overlooked the entire city. The rooms were clean and the bathroom very modern. Wifi was only available in the lobby area but it worked great. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and the staff very attentive. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the city.
