Dropped in for lunch after a morning 4WD Trek in the nearby Tallaganda National Park. Enjoyed a hamburger with the lot and my wife had a steak sandwich with the lot. Both were excellent and the beer was at a perfect temperature. Reeks of history and it was a great Aussie experience. Highly recommended!

Our group of 16 visited Captains Flat hotel this weekend and throughly enjoyed our stay and the great adventure riding in the area.
It was the coldest weekend of the year and the wood heating and particularly the well heated dining area took the chill off after our outdoor activities.
The up stairs accomodation is of a good standard for a country pub and certanly hints of the wealth once generated by mining in local area.
Our meals were good pub tucker and the staff went out of their way to help us.
The pub can accomodate group of around 22 and I recommend this establishment to the motorcycling fraternity and yes there is a lock up area for your bike.

Captains flat hotel is a fantastic pub ran by two amazing, friendly, hard working women! Heather and cindy are very accommodating! They run a pool night on Tuesday's, they cook great meals. The pub has a fantastic atmosphere, there is always someone to have a good chat with!
Very friendly people in captains flat, they have markets the first Saturday of every month, with a sausage sizzle and small cafe with coffees, soups, cakes etc available at the town hall, next door to the pub.
The hotel rooms are lovely, I had my wedding in captains flat in 2013 and they accommodated for our entire wedding party!
It's a fantastic pub in a great little town. It's a lovely community!

Fantastic pun in a great little town!.

Thank you for your review of our iconic Captains Flat Hotel. The town's people are true gems and are always up for a chat with visitors.
Pool comp Tuesdays is definitely a blast, better to get here early as we have max'd out numbers the last few weeks.
Thanks again, hope to see you soon.

We left Captains Flat as we found it - dead! Nothing to look at. No where to ask questions. Took ages to get there for - nothing. Why the information bureau at Queanbeyan sent us there (by pamphlet - it was closed when we attended) we'll never know. Do yourself a favour, don't think about going there.

Thank you for the time to write a review of our charming town, Captains Flat.
The hotel is always open at 11am, maybe the doors where closed to keep the open fire warmth in, as you are aware we have had some cool winter days.
Its unfortunate you did not enjoy the scenic drive through rolling hills and rural farms.
Anyways, hopefully you do visit again, and join us for some warm country hospitality, a fantastic pub meal, and maybe a cheeky cold beer.
Regards
