The good things: the fantastic rooftop bar and restaurants, great pizzas and city views. The rooms are great, a suite with kitchen, lots of space, but they have seen better days. As everything in Venezuela, maintenance is not up to date.

The not so good: service is awful. Checking in (and checking out) can take a very long time. And I do not mean because there is a line. It seems that employees have to go through a series of bureaucratic steps, and are not well trained. The worst: the service at the hotel restaurant (by the pool). Unacceptable in any part of the world. although Caracas is famous for a very bad service...everywhere.

Room Tip: At the official exchange rates, the hotel is very expensive.

Found this to be a good hotel, well situated in a nice neighborhood ( Altamira). As long as you don't have breakfast here you should be good to go...(if you do stay for breakfast avoid the coffee...American Airlines coffee is better ...this says everything)...there is a good delicatessen across the street to go for coffee and something light to eat.

Hotel restaurant at the lobby serves decent food and service I'd say is "above average" for Caracas. Don't be offended if you are a Venezuelan, but there has to be recognized quality of service at restaurants, etc on this city are well below average...so don't blame the hotel...this is the way things are here.

My room was VERY spacious, more than I needed, more appropriate for an extended stay with a kitchen, living room area, ample bathroom/closet area with doors for privacy. Furniture, etc is not new but everything works and is in good shape.

Security is good, gated with security guard so you have to be registered or authorized by a guest to enter the premises.

Internet speed is slow...intermittent, if improved it will greatly make people's stay better.

I stayed in Altamira Suites for around 7 weeks in Dec 2013 to Jan 2014. Hotel is nice, comfortable and well placed. Service can be improved and it will be the best place in Caracas to stay. Security which is the most important aspect in Caracas is well taken care in Altamira Suites. It has malls and grocery stores in the vicinity. Cherry on the top is really on the top of Altamira Suites that is its pub 360 degree, good place for a nice evening.

I stayed in this hotel because i was told by locals it was one of the better ones in Caracas.
WRONG! Checking took 30minutes. The room key did not work immediately you have to play with it in order for it to open. Entire "suite" was small. Calling it a "suite" is a joke. All the furniture is from the 60's. The box TV is from the 70's. The remote control worked when it wanted to, even though they changed it twice. The plugs are for 220voltage only. The A/C worked well, but LOUD and kep me up. The reception personnel do not know how to transfer phone calls since the system is obsolete. Breakfast was awful.

The only thing good about it is that it is safe and conviniently located.
Will not stay there again.

We started in a number of rooms over our two week stay in the Capital. One was fantastic un-renovated 1950's, Two bedroom apartment, with working kitchen. The others renovated one bedroom apartments. All in good clean condition. Comfortable bed.

The security is good, the breakfast is a complete buffet the pool small the sauna closes at 6 pm. Free wifi (which is great unlike those big horrible US chains). Nice trustworthy travel office on the ground floor. Check him out.

Warnings you must book in advance via email, they will not take walk-ins.

Pay in cash don't splurge on your credit card its simply a waste of money.

Supermarket, chemist and nice salad bar within moments of the front gate. 5 minutes walk to the underground.

The area is safe enough to walk around at night.

Room Tip: Go for the deluxe its like $5.00 more
