Mamma Nui is a wonderful place to stay. I spent 6 nights and 5 days on Easter Island and I wish I could go back. This place is great for solo travelers, families, couples, really anyone and everyone. The location is perfect, very close to town and easy to walk to everything. The dome I stayed in was great, it had everything I needed including a fridge in the room with drinks. The bed was comfortable and I got great sleep every night. They provide excellent service and the room is cleaned everyday. Breakfast was included everyday with my stay and that was great. The food was wonderful and fresh every morning. On top of the food the view from the porch made breakfast even better. They picked me up and dropped me off to the airport and it made my stay even better and worry free. I would stay here again and again. Not only is it a great value and a wonderful place to stay, the family the runs it are so kind, generous, and lovely which made the stay even more incredible. I can't recommend this place enough.

Mamma Nui is the most amazing place to stay on Easter Island and I would recommend it to any couple wishing to have a special experience of the beautiful island of Rapa Nui. We arrived after 2 days of traveling and were greeted by the most wonderful waitress smiling from ear to ear. She got us a welcome drink and ran us through the important basics of the island and culture.

From then until the end of our 3 night stay we could not fault the hotel. The breakfast each day was yummy and very authentic with fresh juice served each day. There was a real sense of family in the hotel and we really enjoyed the personal approach taken by the staff.

We had our own outside area of the hotel and one day got back from the beach and enjoyed a Pina colada in the sunshine. Nothing was too much trouble, the lady who owner the hotel offered to order us a taxi, allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel on our day off checkout and even offered us local knowledge and advice.

We were there for our honeymoon which was made extra special by our lovely accommodation, you should definitely visit, we will be back for our 20th wedding anniversary if not before!!

We stayed in this beautiful domo for 3 nights- and it certainly put the 'glam' into glamping! Mini bar, aircon, bathroom & hammock/sitting area underneath our private balcony with beach views. We were picked up from the airport and greeted with friendliness, welcome drink & a snack. The domo was beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. A lovely breakfast was served each morning in the restaurant. The owners were more than accomodating to meet any of our needs- we were overwhelmed with their kindness and care during our stay. Mamma Nui is in a perfect location & their glamping style accomodation is a fantastic way to spend time on this unique island.

Mamma Nui was one of the best places I stayed at during my entire trip to South America. From the moment we got picked up from the airport, we felt at home for the entire duration of our 5 days stay.

Prior to our arrival we exchanged a few email with the owner Valeria and she was always quick and helpful with her replies. She helped us organise a car rental and a tour of the island on the day we arrived. The domos are really spacious and offer a great view of the ocean from the platform. The domo was cleaned daily and was always spotless.

Juan and Valeria were both really friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. One day we left really early to see the sunrise so they packed a nice picnic basket for us. And on our last day they even gave us a little farewell gift - all these little things made our stay really special.

I would stay there again. Iorana Mamma Nui!

Our trip to Easter Island (aka Rapa Nui and Isla de Pascua) was restricted to one and a half days mostly as a result of flight schedules. This was the start of a month touring South America. We did a lot of research in advance of our visit in an attempt to achieve:

- The absolute maximum exposure to the history and culture of the island and peoples
- A good bed in clean and comfortable surroundings
- Quality food
- A tour guide capable of taking us to see everything with an ability to communicate
- Advice as this was our first visit

Looking back we probably chose Mamma Nui for the novelty of glamping, the reputation of the restaurant and the fact that the owner offered tours equal to others. In fact they took care of most wants. We were however warned in advance by the owners that their command of the English language was lacking.

We were met at the islands tiny airport by Juan the owner and his two young children. A short city tour and we arrived at Mamma Nui, a restaurant, the family home and at the rear on a raised platform in the colourful gardens an eco pod. We were introduced to mum, Valeria and unexpectedly fed and watered. From that moment on we felt as though we were included as part of their family.

The accommodation was very comfortable being spacious, clean and having everything we needed. Lovely views from the raised platform.

The food was exceptional. A quick chat and we had both ordered one of the daily recommendations. Neither of us saw or wanted to see a menu. Juan is the face on the photos but he openly admits that his wife Valeria is the better chef. Regardless we certainly enjoyed the food.

We achieved two tours, a full day then a half day. Juan the owner was the tour guide. Again came his patter that his English was lacking. Off we went in the pick up, more off road than on, seeing a lot more than most are offered. What sights we saw and memories we have. From start to finish all three of us talked non stop. His enthusiasm for the history and culture were unbelievable. Do not believe him we more than understood everything he said and certainly enjoyed his company.

Unfortunately all good things have to come to an end with Juan and his children taking us back to the airport and off we went to continue our tour of South America.

What a lovely family and thank you all for making our visit to your beautiful island such a wonderful memory. We will always think of you fondly.

Highly recommended.

PS - A must when visiting Easter Island is a trip to the Ballet Kari Kari. A fabulous performance of typically local music and dance put across with such enthusiasm and professionalism. An hour watching the show and the audience are worn out just watching.
